No, it's not needed. The included RS Adapter( co-developed by IFOOTAGE and DJI) is equiped with a 6pin power supply and communication system, supplying power and data transfer to DJI Gimbals stably, continuously, and safely.

Which DJI models are compatible with NANO 2?
NANO2 currently supports RS2, RS2 Pro, RS3 Pro, RS4 and RS4 Pro ONLY. The focus function only supports RS4 /RS4 Pro+DF03-002 focus motor combination.
