Have this hooked up to a GC-FID. So far I have noticed that I do not need a filter for the hydrogen, it appears to come out of the generator pure. No baseline drift on the FID, and has been able to give me a constant flow of 50 ml/min of fuel. The generator so far has been very reliable, runs great and responds to GC parameters. The only noise related to the operation of this unit is a cooling fan located on the back of the instrument. There is no noise pollution associated with the generator. The unit is pretty easy to use, and comes with replacement seals/gaskets. All one has to do is feed the generator 100 g KOH and fill it up with deionized/distilled water. The generator plugs into a 110V wall outlet, so a basic residential electrical setup will work to run the generator. I would suggest labeling the included potassium hydroxide, instead of telling one that the bag of solids is KOH.
