After spending a substantial amount of time playing with the settings, Iโ€™ve determined that no matter what you do, this microphone sounds like garbage. It baffles me how anyone would keep this product after testing it. It sounds like an XBox 360 microphone from 2010. I looked into downloading drivers but there arenโ€™t any. No matter what I did, it sounds like I was talking through a washing machine.

Great item! i do podcasting. I replaced an existing mic that just wasn't giving me enough power. This one has much better range and options than what i had been using. I've found it to be very useful in meeting all of my expectations.

This USB mic coming in for about half the price of more popular models immediately piqued my interest. I have been using a Rode NT Mini for close to 2 years now and have really loved that mic. The JLab Go is a great alternative where you might be willing to cut some corners in exchange for a lower price. My first piece of note is that it definitely needs a pop filter, since without it it's very "tinny" and picks up a lot of the sharpness of sounds you may not otherwise want. For my temporary solution since I'm cheap, I just put a sock over the top of the mic and it's worked well enough to cut out the top of those sharp sounds. My next bit of criticism comes in the supplied stand. The microphone itself is very light and easy to handle. However, this does have a drawback of making it very prone to cords pulling it this way and that while attached to its provided stand. Though it does come with a rubber locking plug, mine doesn't fit and even with the microphone out of the stand it fails to line up flush, which is a bummer. I use mine in a mic boom arm so that's not an issue for me anymore, but when I want to use it on its own I have to be very careful not to bump it or the cord.Otherwise, the sound quality is really good and leagues better than any built-in laptop, phone, or other cheap "gaming" mic you might come across, so I only doc 1 star for the things I mentioned and would say this stacks up nicely to my Rode. I have also used a Yeti Snowball mic at my work office a number of times and would say this one is comparable to that in quality, though the Yeti just slightly edges it out sound-wise.Lastly, I do have to give props to the sleek build and overall look of the JLab; it's really a nice and fetching piece of equipment and I am proud to have it at my desk.
