This is by far the best air activated shutter release I've ever used. I'm so glad that it is still manufactured. I use an 8 x 10 Deardorff with various shutters, some of which (Ilex Universal 5) require a very long and strong throw in order to be released. The Kaiser is the only air release which can do it. I also have a Degroff release which is well fabricated but very poorly designed and will not trip an Ilex shutter. The Kaiser piston is very smooth and low-mass so it will not shake the camera when squeezed. The chunky Degroff has a heavy recoil that sends a shockwave into the camera. There is another (cheaper) air release on the market but as I recall, it is too weak to trip a big shutter. The only downside is that the Kaiser is very expensive ––– but the Degroff was pricier and did not even work. Get the Kaiser if you shoot large format.

Big squeeze bulb can be hand-held or squeezed with your foot. Great for when you want to be in the shot, using that old mechanical camera, which doesn't have a self-release timer (I use a Sputnik 3d film camera). The Bulb pressurizes the rubber line, which in turn activates a piston/cylinder that connects to the camera via about a four inch long release cable. My initial testing shows that it works! I might update this review as I get more experience with it.
