The Koblenz 4.2 buffer is a very poor machine. I have had it for a few month and it fell apart. It did a satisfactory job of buffing the floors. However, it just simply fell apart. One of the wheels stop working andit made a terrible, terrible noise- as though it were going to break up or come apart. From my experience, Iwould give it a non-star rating. I am now in the market for a more substantial machine. Save your moneyand shop around...

I found the unit was not easy to maneuver. It was so light weight that it seemed to be ineffective in the waxing of my floor and did not leave a smooth glossy finish. I would have returned it but I had used it to see if it would work on my floors and did not want to return a used product.

What a great unit! It's just like the Regina Floor Polisher my mother had back in the 60s -- it even uses the same brushes. I had to scrub the bare concrete floor in the basement with cleaning solution, then a water rinse, an etching solution, and water rinse again. This machine saved me from hours of back-breaking manual labor with a scrub brush. I'm also using it for tile floors in my bathroom shower, and to remove mildew from the deck. Strongly recommended. (P.S. It does have a slightly more "industrial" look than that old Regina, but no one beside you is ever going to see it, so who cares?)

Worked very nicely on my kitchen wood floor. It moved back and forth easy and gave the floor a nice shine with the floor wax I used.

The first one I received was in very bad shape with the whole front of the plastic casing in many pieces. I did return it and the time to get a new one re-shipped was fast, which I really appreciated. The next one arrived and there was a missing gouged out piece in the back of this one. Since I really wanted to get my floors done before company arrived, I decided that this one would probably not be compromised by the broken piece, so kept it. Also there was suppose to be a small screw that attached to the electrical box that then to the handle. That was missing. I found one that worked in my trip to Lowe's so that is now alright. Other than the two broken ones that I received - I do like this machine. Works very well and is light weight so easy to use.

Not great for hardwood floor buffing. Only the outer buffing pad contacts with the floor as it is attached to the centre of the brush heads with a plastic retainer clip, On a shiny wood floor it leaves swirl marks everywhere. Koblenz Genuine Lambswool Buffing Pads wear out really fast

I'm not that impressed with this product.I ended up with two (and the comparison between the first one I used and the second will form the basis for my analysis). So, I find the product to be kind of cheaply made (poorly-designed--pick your poison). The reason is multi-fold.For starters, the axle to which you fix the scrubbers, which then serve as a mounting point for the other attachments, can be worn out of balance easily. I have probably less than 2 hours of use on the first unit and one of the axles is already spinning out of balance which produces uneven seating on the floor and the attachment (buffers in my case) are wearing at an unusually high rate because they can't achieve a firm seat/seal against the floor--all due to the uneven balance because of the wobbly axle's rotation.I'm undecided as to whether I'm gonna trash it or send it for warranty repair. I have an unfinished floor now, furniture all over the place, waiting for replacement buffing pads so I can finish the job with the second unit and after all this trouble...knowing what I know now--I would never buy another unit with these dual heads. The more parts you have--the more opportunities for breakages. A single-head buffing unit would definitely be what I would buy after this experience. Now, for the attachments, the pins used to secure these...ugh!! Frustration galore! The buffing pads have a high rate of wear because there is nothing to firmly secure them in place. There is no plastic ring or anything which attaches them in place. They're usually a single piece and when you're spinning that wool, cotton, or fiber at high RPMs--how long do you expect the seal to last? So, this thing's design is in desperate need of a limited-slip differential between the rotating heads. It's all too easy for one of the heads to catch traction that the other might not and then it causes the entire unit to start wobbling undesirably until both heads can synch up again. It's an awful design and to be honest--the way attachments mount to the scrubbing brushes with nothing to fasten them apart from gravity and a sandwich effect between the floor and the unit...it's a terrible design that makes the attachments high-wear items and they're not affordable enough to overlook this issue.1-star for anything except scrubbing. If you only need this for intense scrubbing and have no need for buffing or polishing then it's okay, maybe 3-4 stars. But for polishing/buffing. NO STARS!!!Just my humble opinion.
