This came well packaged with no damage, even though the box showed some signs of abuse. It has a LOT of foam padding keeping everything in place. Assembly was easy, and the instructions were overall very easy to follow. There are no tools included, and it says you need a Philips screwdriver, a regular screw driver, and a hammer. I found the regular screwdriver and hammer totally unnecessary. And it is much easier if you use a drill to do the work, but be sure to put the drill on a low setting or it will strip out the parts. It is a typical flat pack manufactured wood product, but is really well designed and all of the parts and holes line up, so there weren't any issues. I did find one spot where I put a part in backwards, and didn't find out until the holes didn't line up, and I had to disassemble it back to that spot and turn the boards around. That was user error though - I hadn't looked at the picture well. The pictures are really helpful, and if you pay attention, you shouldn't have any trouble. I like how the cabinet looks, it is holding all the things that used to go into my desk and file cabinet combined, and its freed up a lot of space in my room replacing those too items. The drawers open nicely, and the file hangers are really sturdy and easy to set up and adjust to fit. Overall very happy with the quality and buildability of this file cabinet for the price - it feels like a bargain.

I love this file! It is the perfect size for my living room. It fits nicely in the corner not too big either. I just need get more organized to make better use of it. I love the color and the farmhouse look, it very much blends in with everything else I have. A friend put it together for me, it took about an hour well worth the apple crisp I paid him with! I would definitely buy and recommend this item to anyone who needs s file. It's on heck of a nice piece!

I had 2 handymen put it together and it still took them a long time. It seemed to be nice at first, then I went to put my files in. One side on the bottom drawer is too large for letter size and too small for legal sized folders. If I drill another hole it will just make the other bigger so (it would be too close) I still can’t use either size. I guess I will have to hire another handyman to fix it. This has ended up being very expensive. I guess you get what you pay for.updated-it broke after 2 months

My grandson and I assembled this in less than two hours. Went together easily, looks great and offers great file storage. The bottom drawer has room for legal sized files as well as letter sized. The drawers are very useful. An electric screw driver really helps speed up the process.Edited to add that the right side of the large lower drawer has two different file sizes: right holds letter sized files, left is too small for legal size files and didn’t have notches for letter size files. I couldn’t find any files that fit the rails so I used a drill to make notches for letter sized files.

I like the color and the hardware. It sturdy and good quality for this type of furniture. The direction is changeling. You need to go VERY slow and read at least twice and still you will make mistakes. I have put together many of these types of projects so I am experienced. I would buy again.
