My living room was built in the 1940s and does not have any overhead lighting. I've had two floor lamps for years, but that has always left one corner of the room dark, so I decided it was time to get one more lamp to add to the overall illumination. This one's small footprint made it perfect for the location. The look of this light is I guess what you'd call modern which some people may not like. I think it looks fine and the outer cover over the LEDs helps reduce the glare. It's easy to assemble and feels sturdy once put together. The base has enough weight to prevent the light from falling over easily, despite being fairly narrow. The amount of light produced is decent, but not enough to light up an entire living room, so it's best used with other lights. I do like that it's dimmable and has color temperature controls, all of which MUST be controlled via the remote control, so don't lose it. Fortunately, the remote is magnetic, a feature which I wish more remotes had, so that you can attach it to the frame of the lamp.In addition to the remote, there's a physical foot switch so that you can control power to the lamp. I'm not sure why they decided to include this, but... it's there. The one thing I really dislike about this lamp is that, if you cut the power using the foot switch or by unplugging it or with a smart outlet, it does not retain the last setting and defaults to bright, cold white light, which is painful on the eyes. This means that I can't set it up with my smart home gear to have it go on or off at specific times and keep the color and brightness that I want. If they had provided a memory function this would be a five star lamp in my opinion. But this lack, given all of the other features, knocks it down a star for me.

Let me begin with the only drawback here: If you control the lamp exclusively with the remote, you will leave the foot switch on. Which is fine. Until the power goes out and comes back on. At which time the light will come back on at full brightness. That may not be ideal if you're using it, say, in a bedroom. But otherwise, it's an easy-to-assemble, decently attractive lamp, with the flexibility of both the foot switch and remote. Along with dimming, you can adjust the color temperature as well as put the light on a timer. It's a pretty well thought-out device. And it is BRIGHT. It's almost too bright at full intensity, so the dimmer really comes in handy!

This is a good LED lamp, but unfortunately it was not bright enough for my particular needs. It still is a good quality lamp for the price and we found another use for it in our home. There is excellent temperature variance and good brightness controls, both on the lamp itself on the included remote. However, the total brightness is still an issue. I would use this in a supplementary position to add extra light to an established lighting system, but if you want to use this in a room as the only light source you will probably be disappointed unless you want a softer light.Overall, its a good, well made lamp, but not bright enough on its own.

I picked up this lamp as I thought it would be a good fit for my son's college dorm room. It has a cool modern and minimalist design and is light and easy to assemble or break-down, but it has some design flaws that keep it from being a top pick.I recently reviewed a similar lamp from the same manufacturer but different seller so some of my observations are similar.Pros:- Lightweight and easy to assemble. The threaded pieces come together with excellent precision so that you don't even see the seams once it's all together.- The base is sufficiently weighted to keep the lamp from tipping over yet not so heavy that it's a burden to move around or pack for college.- Color temp adjustments are either stepped or infinite, depending on how long you press the color temp buttons, giving you the exact color temp that you like - from very warm to very blue and everything in-between. This worked very well in practice.- The remote control works well and has some nice quick-set buttons for pre-programed lamp modes. The magnetic back works well if you have a metal surface to "hang" the remote. I just keep it on the lamp body itself.- Brightness: this thing can get bright! Like hard-to-look-at-it bright (more on this in the cons section) and will light up a small room by itself. The brightness level is adjustable, however, so you can go from super bright to almost nightlight mode easily, enhancing the lamp's versatility.- Low power utilization.- The remote came with batteries (AAA x2)Cons:- The height of the lamp is at eye level and the lamp is setup so that it radiates light outward in a 360 degree arc, so anytime you look over in the direction of the lamp you get an eye full of strong focused source LED light - it's not pleasant, no matter what color temp you setup. So unless you put this in a corner or somewhere you are not apt to look, it's annoying.- The foot pedal on/off switch is useless unless you like the lamp at the coolest and brightest setting. In my tests, every time I used the foot pedal to power cycle the light, it forgot its previous setting and defaulted to 5000K and full brightness. As I don't care for such a cool light temp, this makes the foot pedal useless. The remote on/off button does keep the lamp at the previous setting. I discovered this is more of a "programming" issue as the remote on/off is likely more of a "sleep" function whereas unplugging the lamp has the same effect as the foot pedal - so when the lamp loses power it does not recall its last setting. It will also not automatically power back on after a power interruption.- Instead of feeding out the base, the power cord feeds out the bottom of the pole, so you always see the cord laying over the base on its way to the wall outlet, somewhat diminishing it's clean aesthetic.- The head is a fixed LED lamp - there is no replacing the light source when the LEDs eventually fail so the life of the lamp ends with the LEDs.As you can see, the Cons really outweigh the Pros for me with this lamp. I wanted to like it but I’m probably going to relegate it to the garage shop or basement where I need some light but don't have to be around it much. It's not a total failure and does work, but the design ruins it for me.
