These pastels are so smooth and creamy, much easier to use than Mungyos. They don’t have that waxy quality or break apart when you try to pressure blend. I prefer these to round oil pastels and the price point is great!

These pastels are gorgeous with strong pigment. Absolutely love working with them, I highly recommend this set of oil pastels, they layer well and do not pill.

I really like that these oil pastels are rectangular so they don't roll off the table. And I love the Morandi colors. But I'm frustrated that I didn't get what I ordered.I ordered a bundle of the classic and morandi colors. I received the Morandi right away, but the classic was delayed. When I finally got the second set, it was the macaroon colors. Now apparently it's showing that I ordered the classic and macaroon, so if I try to exchange the macaroon they will just send the same ones again. I could exchange the morandi to get the classic, but I actually ordered (and wanted!) the morandi. To complicate things further, the Morandi are no longer available. So I can't even return the whole bundle and order it again.

I use these for impressionistic landscape sketches. They're very fun! All of the colors are very saturated and some of the lighter colors lay nicely on top of color that's already down on the paper. They are very blendable and smooth, there is no grittiness in any of the colors. It would be nice to have a few less saturated darker colors. I can't vouch for the lightfastness because I've only been using them for 5 months.

I have tried several brands, to include top brands, and these right here are my favorite. I prefer the square shape and love that the kit comes with a large white and black. They are very rich and buttery. They blend very easy and building up on other colors is easy too. I also like that you can achieve a nice texture when you want something with a little more dimension. I plan to buy the other two kits. I can't believe how nice these are and the price is very well worth it!

The square sticks are fun to play with and make different kind of marks more easily than a round stick. My set came missing one color, two of another. The two happen to be a color I like a lot!

I am so pleased with these oil pastels….gorgeous densely pigmented, rich and creamy with just a touch of stickiness. I don’t mind the stickiness at all, the colors layer beautifully and blend very well.First bought the Macaron set and LOVED THE COLORS, then decided to buy the MORANDI SET. But was offered $5. Off a bundle set of the MORANDI AND THE CLASSIC SET. I just opened the CLASSIC SET and WOW! Rich, dense colors, very nice variety of colors, deep colors too. If you could only buy one set you can do everything with this set….but the other colors are gorgeous. This KUELOX SET fit very criteria for me: PRICE, QUALITY, SOFTNESS, PROFESSIONAL QUALITY…..WOW! Very impressed! THANK YOU KUELOX!

Of course that the day these arrive the price drops nearly $7 🤦♀️At that price I may have got both the Morandi and Macaron sets!Today was very hot, so I haven't swatched them just yet - I will wait for them to form up again. The pastels are a good size and shape. I love the colours in this one (Morandi) and the jumbo white & black.Looking forward to getting into them!UPDATE: So deliciously creamy! Blends easily with a finger. These should also work well with a painting knife!

I have been using the Mungyo Soft Oil Pastels 48-piece set for a while, but these Kuelox / Lightwish ones caught my eye with the color sets and reviews I've been seeing. I got the Morandi set (muted colors), noticing that the packaging colors had been updated from the older videos I've seen but the palette itself seems to be unchanged. I was also relieved to see the non-toxic certification on the back of the box.I expected these square ones to be about as firm as the Mungyo, but they are a good deal softer. It will take me a while to adjust my blending technique for these softer pastels, but I don't see it being an issue once I get more time with them. The Morandi palette complements my Mungyo set wonderfully. I swatched the similar colors, and found only four similar pairs between the sets, and they are otherwise very distinct. Particularly useful today as the selection of tans, light browns, and skin tones, which I used to make the attached tiny portrait of a tiny dog.Like the Mungyo, the opacity varies with shades (light yellows in particular are less opaque). I didn't notice any wax bloom, which is always a good sign. Being the softer set, these layer over Mungyo much better than the Mungyo do over themselves (much less smearing, more solid strokes). My only lingering question is on the lightfastness, since there are no ratings listed. Either way, it seems like a steal for this quantity and quality versus the higher-priced alternatives.I am awaiting a shipment from China of the Kuelox Extra Soft Professional round pastels, and it will be great to have all three levels of firmnesss to be able to layer with. That next set will be the Kuelox standard palette (I really wanted the normal greys, since the Mungyo 48 set greys are all blue-tinted) but I remain curious about the Macaron ("pastel" pastels) option.
