Yhe wide base makes it significantly more stable than typical inexpensive stands. Construction is also more solid. Good enough for most indoor applications, though I don't think I'd trust it with very high end studio strobes.

This is definitely worth the money for the green screen I just purchased. That screen is 7 feet tall so the extra .5 inch of this tripod is PERFECT!!!

The clamps that were included with this stand were completely WORTHLESS! The ONLY thing that happened when I tried to unscrew the clamp to open it, was that the adjustment nut JUST CAME OFF the SCREW! The clamp could NOT even be removed from the stand, so JUST the DEFECTIVE CLAMP could be replaced!

For the price, this is as good as any smith-victor stand I've used in the past, which includes 30+ years as a pro photographer. Easy set up, and the plastic feels firm. Not as good as a Bogen, but it's considerable cheaper.

They are good for a while. But after a few months of continous use the levers start to wear and strip. I have to buy new stands now.Id you need something quick then they do a good job but will not last you more than 6months - 1 year.
