Logan Whistles
Dog Training whistles for all breeds
Logan Whistles were originally designed by the Logan Family in the UK for their working dogs. They were Harford Logan's 'secret weapon' in helping him communicate with his dogs to win seven national Championships. There is now a full range of Logan 'sheepdog' whistles available - brass, stainless steel, lightweight alloy and non-metallic Delrin - and the tones they can create are suitable for training all working dogs or as an excellent recall whistle for pets. They are especially effective as dogs like and react well to the tones. Each of us creates a different sound using the same whistle so your 'voice' is unique and easily recognised by your dog resulting in faster reactions as they know for sure that it is you that is asking them for a trained response. How to Use a Logan Whistle
Positioning it correctly in the mouth
The whistle sits against (not on) the tongue, tones created by air flowing through the top and bottom holes and out the slot at the front. Any side can be on top.
Seal the back of the whistle by pushing it against the tongue while at the same time pushing the whistle with the tongue. Allow your lips to fall around the edge and seal the edges taking care not to block the bottom air hole or slot.
Creating Tone variations
Breathe from your chest to send a blade of air through the whistle and out from the slot at the front.
Notice how your tongue moves when you try to whistle a tune; the action is instinctive and so will creating different tones with your Logan Whistle. Breathing down through the whistle gives lower tones; upwards sharper tones.
Use the whistle command first then the voice command the whistle tone replaces. Very soon the dog will respond to the whistle tone alone. Use a consistent tone for each command. Practice out of the dog's hearing.

Qualität ist super sieht auch genau so aus wie auf dem Bild aber ich hätte mir ne AnleitungGewünscht wie sie funktioniert das ist nämlich gar nicht so einfach und wenn Mann sich keine Zeit nimmt zum üben dann kann Mann das teil direkt wieder verkaufen und auch im Internet findet Mann keine Anleitung würde sie daher nicht mehr kaufen

After several YouTube videos and a couple of hours I am able to make this work a little, but I'm not able to do a song or blow it loud.I can blow a tune just fine without it. I got this for my wife who can't whistle, so she can train her new boarder collie pup herding sheep. When I blow it the puppy comes running no mater what.

There is nothing that I can stress more to you than 1. Watch all the instructional videos you can find while waiting for delivery. I debated and watched videos for almost a year before I took the plunge and ordered. When I picked it up I was expecting a month or so before I got a peep out of it. Second attempt I got a respectable noise that both my borders heard from outside. 2. DO NOT give up!! Once you get a sound,,,,, you are on the road.

Four stars for easy to learn and use but not to detract from the overall rating because the whistle does take a lot of practice. The sounds are made from a cleverly designed configuration where you use your lips and tongue to make different tones.

j'avais peur de ne pas savoir m'en servir mais en quelques secondes, j'ai pu en tirer des sons sans souci, j'adore, ma fille veut le même. Reste plus qu'à m'entrainer pour faire des sons un peu différents mais je suis ravie de mon achat et j'en commande un nouveau pour ma fille.

Use this with my Border Collie. This replaces a whistle I lost. Almost glad I lost the old one as this is like a wonderful musical instrument. Love it.

I haven't been able to figure out how to use it. I honestly thought it would be a lot easier, but even with YouTube videos I can't seem to get the whistle to work. I'm not alone, my husband (who's a surgeon) can't get it to make whistle noises either.

This a great whistle first time I ever got a sound out of this type of whistle, dogs respond well far better than just voice command a bit pricey but worth it. Instruction too a great help. Lanyard is comfortable to wear.
