Quick-Flo Tip for Course Soils

Optimizing Irrigation and Conservation Since 1951

The Irrometer was the first commercially viable Tensiometer available, and is still the standard by which other methods are tested. Irrometer instruments provide a direct measurement of soil water tension, which is the tension all root systems must overcome to extract water from the surrounding soil. Simple, reliable, and accurate, the Irrometer is still the choice of many successful growers and consultants.

Irrometer Model LT

The Original Soil Moisture Meter

The Irrometer Model SR is designed for situations where tensions above 30 centibars are rarely expected. The Model LT features the blue Quick-Flo tip, ideal for use with very course soils and non-soil container media. The Model LT is available in 6 lengths ranging from 6 to 36 inches. When equipped with optional electronic output and data logging equipment, measurement and tracking can be done automatically. The standard vacuum gauge on this model can be replaced with electronic measurement options, or automatic switching devices which can activate peripheral equipment at desired soil water tension levels.

  • 0-40 cb (kPa) range gauge
  • Quick-Flo Tip for Course Soils (blue)
  • Air-free gauge gives accurate readings
  • Large reservoir makes maintenance easy
  • Hermetically sealed gauge designed for harsh environments

Custom Gauge and Automation Options

Hermetically Sealed Gauge

Accuracy and long life are ensure by a hermetically sealed cover with a molded-in diaphragm that keeps dirt and moisture out and compensates for variations in temperature and barometric pressure.

Simple and Efficient

Take the guesswork out of irrigation by monitoring soil moisture directly. Irrometer soil moisture meters let you know exactly when and where to irrigate.

Endless Applications

the Irrometer's wide operating range makes it perfect for any and all growing conditions and soil types. Several available lengths and models enables customization for accurate readings in all growing environments.

Getting Started

A Service Unit is necessary for proper operation of the Irrometer instrument and should be included on initial orders. One unit will service all of your Irrometers.

Custom Gauge and Automation Options

Hermetically Sealed

Hermetically sealed pressure gauges are water tight, dust proof, shock resistant, have a 2 inch shatterproof face, and are bottom connected with 1/4th inch brass standard pipe thread stem (NPT). Dual scale of P.S.I. and kPa.

Liquid Filled

Glycerin filled pressure gauges feature stainless steel cases with a durable polycarbonate 2-1/2 inch face, and are bottom connected with 1/4th inch brass standard pipe thread stem (NPT). Dual scale of P.S.I. and kPa.

Switching Gauge

A pressure gauge with direct switching capabilities. Adjustable pressure selector may be set to any desired pressure. The switch will be closed past the setting to actuate connected device. Switch available for AC or DC power and also in reverse switch action (open past the setting). Switching position selected should fall in the center 1/3 of the gauge range.

Automatic Gauge

Provides direct switching capabilities in addition to indicating available soil moisture. Soil water tension readings above the moisture setting can activate an irrigation valve solenoid, time clock, or warning device. A switch mechanism (AC or DC) is mounted on the gauge and rotated to desired setting. The gauge reads in centibars (cb) and kilopascals (kPa) of soil water tension.
