My car has no manifold converter. I bought this based on info on Amazon & Magnaflow that it was the part for my car. I’m returning it. Cost me 2 hours labor to find that out.

I agree with dan’s review completely and had the same exact issues. I also had bolts welded to the bottom flange and bought new shorter M10-20 bolts for the top flange. I would add that this “direct fit” converter did not have bung holes on which a heat shield could be attached, so you’ll need to fabricate one and either tack weld it into the converter or fabricate some brackets to attach it to the bolts.

Changing my review to 4 stars, because the seller shipped the product quickly. I have more issues with the product itself. At first i was disappointed that it did not come with the gasket shown in the stock photo. That turned out to be the least of my worries. IT IS NOT A DIRECT FIT for a 1999 Miata. The first major issue i faced was that the holes on the bottom are not threaded, unlike the OEM model. There is no way you can slip a bolt and get a wrench on the bottom right hole. What did i do, cry? Yup...Did i return it? No.. Kinda wish i did. Instead, i went to the hardware store to buy some M10 bolts and found a muffler shop to weld them to the Catalytic Converter. Hell yeah! Good to go now right?? Eh, almost... Lets switch focus to the top of the converter. You will quickly notice that the top part is half as thick as the OEM, which means when you tighten the converter to the exhaust manifold you will hit the gap in the stud before it meets the manifold. *sigh* You need to replace all the studs with a M10x48mm stud. After all that, it's a direct fit. Don't forget the gaskets though!
