Does what it says it does. I mainly use it to melt cheese on top of food. Waving it around is the best way i've discovered so far. This method doesn't burn the cheese which i don't like. Stable on the counter. I appreciate the safety lock it has prevented a 5 year old from lighting it.

This kitchen torch is not the best looking or feeling but it is more than adequate for my needs. The build looks and feels a little cheap but it is made from metal and it does feel sturdy. The plastic buttons feel a little cheap and flimsy but everything works just fine. The torch was easy to fill with butane and I didn't need to use any adapter I just filled with the raw nozzle on the butane can and most of it went it with only a little spillage. This is always a concern for me when I get butane devices as I often have problems getting them to fill. The flame adjustment works well and so does the trigger lock feature. The handle grip feels nice and not slippery. The piezo igniter works well and gets it going on the first try.The design is fairly ergonomic and it is steady on its feet so you can set it down without worrying about it tipping over easily.works Perfect for crème brulee, meringues or to seer sous vide meats.

Hole thing starts on fire, you could easily burn yourself or start things you don't want to burn on fire.!
