Does what it's supposed to,metal does seem a bit cheaper. Goes from behind up and over my monitor. Came with adapters for a few mics, even a clamp for conical midi mics. Hold the weight well

This boom arm was ordered to replace a similar one with limited articulation. After changing my setup I needed a boom arm that can reach to a suitable position behind a 32" monitor. This arm fits the bill it has two joints that has enough articulation to reach behind a monitor, various mounting options (clamp, and regular with different sizes of adapters). Also includes some clips for cable management. After installing and setting it up it stays in place and strong enough to hold its position. Overall I am quite happy with this boom arm and recommend it to anyone looking for a boom arm with good articultation.

This is a well made mic boom arm. It has three sections with two joints so it works well to reach over a monitor. It is strong enough to hold a condenser mic with a spider mic holder. I've had this up for quite a while and the mic stays where you put it, no sagging or drooping! The kit includes a clamp type mic holder, a regular mic clip holder and adapters for different sized of threads, It has a nice wide base clamp to distribute the weight over a larger surface area. This is important to me because I clamp it onto my glass desk and don't want any mishaps. One more thing it includes is a set of clips to clip your microphone wire onto the frame for good cable management.Overall, I recommend it as a good choice.

Ultimately, this boom stand holds the microphone well. It doesn't seem to sag over time. And it actually allows you to position the microphone lower than the desk surface it's mounted on. This is ideal for putting the mic in front of an acoustic guitar. Possibly the best part is the 6 cord clamps it comes with. That helps keep everything tidy. Plus, it includes 3 different microphone mounts, and several thread size adapters. It's pretty much guaranteed that your mic will fit with what they provide. And whatever you don't need, you can use on other stands since these are all universal parts. But this is also true for any other microphone components you buy.Ok, the subtraction of 1 star: I knew this was balanced by springs, but I guess I didn't realize how limiting that can be to freedom of movement. While the whole stand can swing in any direction, the 3 arm segments of the boom are forced to go straight in the chosen direction. In other words, no part of the boom can angle towards or away from you. They also have limited range. Similar to your own forearm and elbow, once you straighten it out all the way, it can't bend backwards. And sometimes there is a clunky sound to the springs that hold the boom tension when they're moved. I included one picture that shows how compact you can get it. I guess I wish it just more flexible, like a goose-neck flexible conduit is. I don't have any major concerns. But the technology around the boom stand could use an update.

I got this boom arm to replace a similarly-built shorter one that I use to hold a moveable webcam while streaming. So far, it's working well. It has almost exactly the same construction – a bit flimsy, but lightweight and strong enough to hold up an object as light as my webcam. A heavier item would weigh down this arm quite a bit, so if you use it to mount a condenser microphone, you'll have to tighten the joint knobs until they're practically immobile, and you won't be able to move it around except by the swivel at the base. One thing I've never seen before is that the desk clamp is able to mount at two angles, so it can better fit into a cramped desk space like mine. The variety of clips is also great to have, and I love the addition of the cable organizers. This boom arm has some great utility and versatility, and it works well for my application. However, I recommend it only for lighter peripherals. It loses a star only due to its flimsy structure and its tendency to bend and warp under heavy stress.

This mic stand is a solid choice for holding my mic securely during recordings. It’s adjustable and versatile, allowing me to position my mic exactly where I need it. The build quality feels durable, and it doesn’t take up much space, which is a plus for my desk setup. However, I had to really tighten the knobs to keep the arm from dropping down, especially with a heavier microphone. It’s not a big issue, but it would be even better if the adjustment knobs held more firmly without needing that extra tightening. Overall, it’s a reliable boom arm that gets the job done with a bit of extra effort.

I have been using this boom arm for the past few weeks, and it has worked well. I have the mic arm set up on the corner of my desk, which is 60 inches across, and it reaches about halfway, allowing the mic to become an overhead mic. The Arm is full metal with exposed springs, and you can hear the spring coil occasionally when moving the arm, but the sound is not transferred into the microphone, like my last mic arm. However, I have a dynamic microphone attached, so if you have a condenser microphone, it may transfer the audio of the movement. My microphone is also reasonably heavy at just under 3LBS, and I have not experienced any drippage or sagging while using the mic arm as all joints, when tightened, hold pretty well. I left the mic arm extended for two days, and when I returned, the microphone was still in the position I had left. This microphone arm is also relatively compact when closed together. I use my desk for all sorts of content, and I always have papers, books, and other materials that I have to reach for and since the mic arm is mounted on the corner of the desk, it has never gotten in the way, unlike my other mic arm, which made me constantly go around it if I needed to grab something from the other side of it. This is a good mic arm that comes with six cord clamps and three different thread adapters that are sure to fit almost any microphone.
