They're very very well-machined and good-looking pieces, but unfortunately, on my 5.9L Yanmar diesels, the vast majority of oil goes right on through, oiling down my intake and intake filter. Will have to try throwing a ton more steel wool in there or something, because after a season of these with 250 hours on the motors, they're basically useless.

I get just as much oil vapor as I did without it. It flows very well, but catches nothing on my blowby, I dump straight to atmosphere. Think I might stuff some 00 wool in it...it is built nice though

Doesn't keep it all out though, while at the same time it is definitely reducing breather output on the post catch can side, meaning more pressure buildup on the engine side. The difference of output pressure straight off the rocker cover is noticeable vs after the can is in place.

After removing the CDR, I was struggling of containing all the blow-by from my 7.3idi. I had previously bought a generic catch can and it couldn’t handle all the blow-by. I watched a couple videos on YouTube from Mishimoto and I was sold. This thing handles tons of blow-by like a champ! This is legitimately high flow with 1” inlet and outlet. Worked perfect with 1 1/4”ID clear vinyl hose from HD. The price might be holding you back but it’s totally worth the $$$!

The product is really well built. In my application though, It did not keep the oil and water vapors out of my intake. For what you pay for this, it should keep it out. I had this installed on a 6.5Ltd.

Set this catch can up on a turbo diesel. Does a pretty good job at catching oil. Some does get by and back into the intake, but most if it gets stuck in the catch can. Good design to where you can easily unscrew the bottom by hand for draining or cleaning. You can also open the valve on the bottom to drain or even install a drain valve if desired. Mishimoto spent a lot of time designing this can and you can tell. The materials do not feel cheap. Probably the only negative is that I wish it were like $50 cheaper. It is a little expensive. All in all really like this catch can.

Very well made. I have an 01 Cummins that just hade the “puke” bottle. Made a mess all of the time. I bought a cheap oil catch can and just made a mess. Spit oil out of the top filter. So I thought I would spend the $$ and get a good one, one made for diesels. You get what you pay for. This one works great. Last oil change I cleaned it out. Oil condensed in the can like it is supposed to. Since my PCV system on my truck doesn’t recirculate back into the intake I made a longer vent line for this. I just routed it before the rear axle. Just a little vapor comes out now. I can still smell some oil smell but not from the cab like I used to. This is just from the type of oil. Cheveron Delo 400. I would recommend this to diesel owners.

Top quality item, well made and compact design. Early stages of use so unable to give assessment on performance but not expecting any issues. Had to adapt to confined space installation which worked out perfect in the end.

Bought this for a diesel pusher motorhome. Most of these catch can's do not flow enough air for a diesel engine. This one is actually designed for a diesel, and flows really well. Took off one point because this thing is way heavier than it should be.
