Very cool looking and sounds amazing.Still learning how to play it. But it is very calming, no matter what we play.

I ordered one that was defective and then another. I was so hopeful. They both had some problem with a flat sound or an echoing resonant sound, very strange. Returned both. I wouldn't waste my time like I did.

This drum is beautifully made and the sound is ethereal and magical. I keep mine displayed and play it often during the day. Truly a beautiful looking and sounding instrument.

I had high hopes, but a few notes ( the A3 especially— ugh—is flat —it’s really noticeable and tested with tuner). I was going to return, but had already taken everything out of packaging. A good concept, I hoped I could double this as a d Kurd handpan , but not up to snuff. Buy an inexpensive handpan — you might get lucky with better tuning of the primary tone.Only nice thing to say is the notes do resonate, if you’re looking for mallet playing. I’ve updated my review from a two to three star. Now using this for one note resonating meditation and it resonates nicely with soft headed mallets. ( included)

This is my first steel drum of any kind. I’ve had it now for a couple months. I used a tuner to determine its accuracy and it is pretty good. The tone is pleasant, it’s an agreeable size, and it’s enjoyable to play.

The tone is wonderful. I was worried, since it is not from these private makers, but I'm totally pleased. It was well boxed and I really like the soft cloth covering option for the mallets. Easy to pick up and sit in your lap or play from a table. It is instantly relaxing, which is what I was looking for. I reduced by one star because the A3 is way out of tune. I didn't want to try and send it back for another since I suspect they are mass produced and don't know what I would get back. but I still really enjoy it. I just avoid that one note.

I’m really surprised at the quality. I am new to this, so I am sure there are a lot better, but this feels like a great starter. Quality is great, sounds great. Very sturdy and weight is good. The bag is awesome quality as well. I have no complaints at all about this. I was shocked and happy with how big it is.

I am a non-professional, but high level musician with a collection of instruments, ranging from bagpipe to French horn. I am also a luthier, having built banjo and arch top jazz guitar, as well as all of the violin family instruments. I have perfect pitch.I did a lot of research on YouTube for tongue drums, and this instrument has tonal quality and excellence of pitch, with warmth, and sustain equal to any higher priced instrument I have heard played.I have not achieved competence in finger and thumb strike but the mallet is excellent. The finger tips are awkward and not usable right off the bat, but I will try.The inner tongue produces a clear and distinct , accurate octave overtone, which is easy to control. The Celtic minor tuning is versatile, and always pleasing to the ear. And it is the same as the hand pan I have on order. The enclosed bag is substantial and has back pack straps.Search no further. If you want a quality tongue, drum, buy this item.
