What is Variable Valve Timing (VVT) Solenoid ?

The variable valve timing solenoid valve realizes the oil pressure supply by changing the engine speed and load.

It is generally divided into Intake Valve and Exhaust Valve. It can be installed on the vehicle to improve engine operation, increase engine power, reduce fuel consumption and reduce emissions.

Variable Valve Timing (VVT) Solenoid failure performance

ECV_03

Check Engine Light On

If there is a problem with the variable valve timing solenoid, the check engine light will come on.

If this happens, you must contact your car service provider and have it checked by an ASE certified mechanic.

ECV_04

Dirty Engine Oil

The VVT solenoid valve shall be kept clean with the required engine oil. When the oil contains a lot of impurities, it may cause blockage

ECV_05

Unstable idle speed of engine

If you find that your engine is in an unstable idle state, there may be a problem with the VVT Solenoid

ECV_06

Fuel consumption increased significantly

If you find that your fuel consumption has increased significantly, there may be a problem with the VVT Solenoid, which causes the valve to open for a long time, leading to increased fuel consumption.

How to replace VVT Solenoid failure performance ?

  1. Opening the Hood and Engine Cover
  2. Disconnecting the Battery
  3. Find the VVT Solenoid
  4. Remove Mounting Bolts
  5. Disconnecting and Removing the Solenoid
  6. Inspecting the VVT Solenoid
  7. Preparing and Inserting the New Solenoid
  8. Securing the VVT Solenoid
  9. Install the Connector
  10. Replace
