My cats love this!!! They enjoyed it dry as a topper and wet. I loved that I could introduce more water intake by rehydrating for my older boys. Like most cat foods the smell is very strong.

Great raw/freeze dried food option for cats. Adding water is optional but I like to do it to give my cats extra hydration. They go crazy for this food!

I thought we had offered my cats most forms of cat food but this was a first for me. Overall I was impressed with the product. Both our young cat and much older cat enjoyed these once they got over the form factor. Initially I was apprehensive due to the looks of these, but I am not a cat so I let them decide. The cats weren't bashful - they were immediately curious and fascinated once we opened the bag. This product smells like both turkey and tuna, strongly and distinctly. It didn't take long before curiosity gave way to consumption. These food "patties" are shredded food that has been freeze dried. It really does seem like that is pretty much the long and the short of it. You can see the food that these are made out of and it seems like the cats can too. They definitely seem to get a bit of a wild instinct when it comes to eating these. There is a sense that they are in predator and prey mode once they get a hold of these. We used these to supplement regular feeding, in place of snacks or sometimes a meal, depending their mood. I wouldn't say that there were any dramatic changes in their health or behavior but they definitely appreciated the product. They definitely pinged up when they heard the bag open - not to level of hearing temptations across the house or anything like that - but enough to get them out of a cat nap and at our feet.We just fed these to the cats as is, no water added or breaking up the patties. We thought about it but after they had a few tastes, they had no desire to wait around. They were no worse for wear, didn't seem thirstier than normal and their stomachs didn't get upset from the new food source.Overall, cool product and a nice alternative or supplement to standard cat food, BUT... Beware: These have bones in them sometimes. I didn't go reassembling the skeletons but I believe that they were pin bones from salmon. There were only a couple, small and sharp but also dry with no spring to them, presumably from the freeze drying process.,We found the bones leftover after the cats had eaten so they either ate around it or had to get rid of it while eating. If they HAD eaten it, I am not sure if the piece was large enough to cause any issues - the tips were sharp but overall brittle. I assume that wild cats have to work around things like that from time to time, thus they should be equipped for such a scenario. We didn't risk it, anyway and gave them a once over from then on. If your cat has a delicate digestive tract, keep an eye out.

In short, I am very pleased with Nature's Advantage Turkey & Tuna Cat Food and will order more.My Review if you would like to read why (several photos attached). So I assembled my 4 cat taste testing panel, opened the bag on the kitchen counter and soon they caught a whiff of the fish smell and set all their manors aside. My plan was to re-hydrate it but the cats lost all patients and two had now jumped on the counter and I couldn't crumble it fast enough just to feed it dry and as a treat at this point. The first photo is Gloopus on the counter and that big boy licked his plate clean. The next two photos are Scribbles (a kitten I foster), CK and Anise all enjoying it too. These are well fed cats bare in mind with an open bowl of dry kibble to graze on all day and wet food twice daily acting like they had not eaten in 3 days.Going forward. I have now tried it re-hydrated and their interest is still very much there. No issues at all and the litter box looks good. This food arrived fresh in a resealable bag and includes an expiration date and states to use within 30 days of opening. On the bottom is the Manufacturer's information and Nature's Advantage is their private label brand. The amount of servings is hard to gauge. It is a big bag with at least 24 large patties which equates to quite a bit of food and to me at a very appealing price especially for this quality. In close, I am very pleased with this food as a treat, complete meal or topper and my cats sure enjoy it.

I bought this for my foster cats, but I don't have any right at the moment, so I opened up the package and did let my dogs try them. You probably can't go by dogs, because they will eat anything, but they loved it.I like this interesting formulation of freeze-dried patties which will make this product easy to measure and feed. They're like Weetabix cereal: you only need one or two to crumble up in a bowl.I don't see any cat eating this dry for dinner, and I'm not sure you really should feed this dry. Cats' kidneys need moisture and cats are notoriously fussy about drinking. You should definitely dissolve the patties in a little water, which is one of the suggested ways of serving it on the package.I love that there is a lot of protein in these, but I don't think all the fruits and vegetables that have been added are necessary. Maybe people think that cats need fruits and vegetables, but they don't; they're obligate carnivores who only need meat to survive.I don't see any added taurine, but it is possible that the meat contains enough. It does say that the product meets AAFCO standards, but there is no third-party verification, and the FDA does not check claims like this one.It is made in the USA, which is a good thing.
