Great stand. Very sturdy. The knobs lock each section in place securely and it is very well air cushioned. The only thing that kept me from giving 5 stars was collapsing can be difficult; the legs stick a bit when collapsing, but that's not enough to prevent me from buying more of these.

Another great Neewer product. This lightweight light stand is a heavyweight when it comes to build quality and performance.The light stand is very well designed and is entirely made of aluminum including the joints and tightening mechanism which is far superior to the plethora of lightweight stands that use plastic at the joints.Another great feature is the air cushioning designed into the three sections along their entire length (not just at the bottom). When you're ready to lower the extended sections of the stand, the air cushioning feature won't let the sections close quickly, thus preventing any rapid descent. Air cushioning is superior to other stands that simply use an internal spring to prevent a catastrophic crash when it gets to the bottom.The rotating spigot on top is also a nice feature for those time when you need to connect an accessory at a 90° angle. The column sections are larger in diameter than similar stands from other manufacturers - making this stand sturdier than others.I like this stand a lot and plan to purchase more. A pair of these would make great background support stands.

When they say all-metal, they really mean it. All of the tube clamps and even the heads of the knobs are cast metal. The tubes are finished in a satin black powder coat. This is what I would call an intermediate-to-heavy duty stand. It has larger diameter tubing and is much heavier and stronger than the more common inexpensive light stands out there, but on the other hand it's lighter and more manageable than the big professional stands intended for use with booms and sandbag counterweights. I believe the only non-metal on the stand would be the plastic feet that prevent marring the floor.The air cushioned columns work very well, and when loaded with only an LED panel light you can loosen your clamps and go off to finish packing up your equipment while the telescoping column slowly eases down. Of course you can push the sections down to accelerate the process, but the point is that the air cushioning works exceptionally well.Do this at your own risk, but if you defy the instructions that specify fully extending the legs, you can reduce the minimum height to about 41". I often use this with the center column almost touching the floor with the legs slightly pulled in, and with light loading on top it is still very stable for my use.We use many Neewer products and in general it is a brand that can be trusted for good quality at a reasonable price.Recommended.

This is a solid piece of equipment for the studio. It weighs about four pounds and collapses into a compact 5 "x 5" x 40" space. That makes it easy to store, but it's also very easy to set it back up. The legs extend out and provide a extremely stable tripod base with about a 3 ft tip to tip spacing.Let me repeat that this is very solidly built. The three sections lock firmly into place with the screw clamps. The tube width is perfect for clamping additional items in place. The top mount has either 1/4 inch or a 3/8 inch adapter that can be set vertically or horizontally. The manufacturer specifies that this is rated for a 5 lb load, But I think that's been very conservative. I mounted a reflector and floodlight on it with a second fill light clamped on the second section. It was probably about 10 pounds, and it felt perfectly stable.The air tension cushioning is really nice. You happen to have an expensive light and you start to release the tension this is not going to drop to the bottom. Gently hisses down. And as long as I'm talking about this the three sections easily reach higher than an eight foot ceiling. I did not measure whether it actually hits 9 1/2 feet but I have no doubt that with a 10 foot ceiling it would let you get a good downlight.I can't tell you how pleased I am with this light stand, and would have no hesitation buying additional ones from the same manufacturer.

Neewer consistently puts out high-quality products and this tripod is no different. The frame is made from aircraft grade aluminum making it extremely sturdy and ready to take a beating for years to come. The way that you can move the mount for the camera to a vertical or horizontal position and completely lock it in place is heavy duty and extremely useful. There's air cushioning in the tripod so when you loosen a bolt it doesn't slam down, and damage equipment attached to it. Rather it comes down slowly and very softly stops in place with the least velocity possible. The base of the tripod is very adjustable for whatever your needs may be and is more than reliable in any position you may lock it in. This is a very high-end tripod at a great price that I definitely recommend to anyone from amateur to professional!

This has great legs. It really makes it feel sturdy and secure. At 8 1/2' tall, this is taller than my bedroom ceiling, so more than enough height at home and taking it outside or on location allows me to mount a larger softbox and flash for great portraits.The air-cushion teardown is probably my favorite part. It closes down in a controlled fashion which can be a pain if there's nothing mounted on it, but it's a great feature when you have a light and softbox mounted on it. Nice and controlled- I love it!
