Bore size is 15/32 inch (12mm) in diameter. Depth is 3 1/4 inch deep. If the widest part of the file tang is less than that, buy the size 0 (E). This handle is for files 12 inches and longer.

This fit my 16" file perfectly. It is hard to find file handles for large files like this.

This fit my large lathe file perfectly.The people who are complaining about the size bought the wrong handle. This is not for little files from Home Depot. My file is probably 14" long, and a regular handle won't fit.

These high quality file handles are made from seasoned white birch with a nickel plated ferrule. Proper tool handles add comfort, increase leverage, making woodworking cabinet rasps and metalworking files more effective in use. Shellac finish.

Bought two of these comfortable, hand-filling handles for long 14" files. One came loose and could only be pounded back on once before wood inside was too compressed to hold anymore. Total 5 weeks of hard use. The other handle on the other file has never come loose. Getting a secure fit probably depends more on the shape of the file's tang than on the handle.
