30分以上走行しているのにエンジンがガタガタ、カラカラと不調が続き、ラジエターキャップが冷たくアッパーホースもそんなに温かくなく、赤外線温度計で測るとアッパーホースもシリンダーブロックも45℃しかないというオーバークールの症状があり、その場で予備の水温計に交換を決断。整備中に力を入れすぎで水温計をねじ切ってしまったからさあ大変。車が壊れてオーバーヒートする可能性があるので部品商（日産部品販売）やディーラーには買いに行けない。最寄りの部品商やディーラーまで往復10kmでタクシー代は5000円程になってしまう。そんな時にAmazonで純正部品が売っている事を思い出した。よくみるとメーカー定価以上に高く、送料分をけっこう加算されているのだが、この部品1個定価2000円を買うのにタクシー代4000円で合計6000円よりは、2600円のほうがはるかに安く合理的だ。ポチれば2-3日で届いた。他にAmazonで詰った水温系の先端を取り除くためにドリルビットとかエクストラクター、直角アングルビット、たがね等を購入したが、普通にドリルビットで回したらすぐに残骸は取れて、晴れて新品のメーカー純正水温系の取り付けが出来た。その水温計は締め付けトルクは5N程で良く、M6の頭が10mmのボルトのプラスチック部への締め付け程度の超軽トルクでの締め付けが必須だ。なので私みたいにホイール用の12.7mmの60cmのトルクレンチとかで、くいっと回すと一瞬で水温計がなめたりねじ切れるので、整備事故にはくれぐれも注意し、すごく軽く締め付けることを忘れないようにしよう。なお確か12.7SQのホイール用の21mmディープソケットが適合するので、私のようなオーバートルクの水温計破壊にはくれぐれも注意してほしい。

This is the actual Nissan sensor. I bought an off brand sensor with a new female wire harness plug at my local parts store because my qx4's coolant temp gauge would act erratically, going from cold to normal, and back down to cold repeatedly.Then, when I replaced the sensor with the new off brand one, it wouldn't idle smoothly and the SERVICE ENGINE SOON light came on. So I returned that sensor and bought this one for a couple pennies cheaper and it was a quick delivery, in a Nissan package like you get from the dealer with the Nissan symbol engraved into the brass body. Once I installed this one, the service engine light went away and the coolant temp gauge went to normal and fixed my problem.

This was an identical replacement for the EOT sensor in my 2010 Infiniti G37xS sedan and corrected DTC code P0196 "Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Range Performance" that was causing the VQ37VHR engine to run as if cold even when at normal operating temperature.
