So I got this after spending a LONG time researching to find a decent cheese slicer like this style. Sure there are those cheese slicing spatula things but I wanted one that looked similar to this because I have an older one like this that I wanted to replace. It worked great at first, but less than a month of using it I noticed the screws on the side were starting to rust.I immediately removed them and went and bought some stainless steel ones to replace them. Thus a star is being taken off for that. This was hand washed each time and just like the old style one we have those screws were rusting already after such a short time. So hopefully the stainless steel ones will last a nice long time.I will have to keep and eye on it and see how well it will last, it should do just fine though because it's aluminum with some type of wire, and now stainless steel screws. Just wondering if the stainless steel will react with the aluminum over time or something. But again time will tell.

This was a replacement for a Norpro OLD cheese slicer. I was so glad to find the same thing as it cuts THINNER slices of cheese. Perfect for what I wanted. I would buy it for a gift or again if I needed it again.

It works like my old one that is over 20 years old. It’s good to be able to use it on bigger blocks of cheese.

This cheese slicer is just what I wanted...sturdy, easy to clean, good looking. It even came with an extra wire if needed.

I have had three of these. The first lasted for what seemed forever. The second broke as soon as I tried to slice a bit of colby jack. The third didn't even make it through BEING WASHED before it broke.

Have been looking for awhile for a sturdy all metal cheese slicer. So far it's exactly what I wanted. Hopefully it will last a long time.

This would be the ideal cheese slicer and at first seems to hit the mark on all facets...and then you wash it. The whole cheese slicer is made out of what appears to be polished stainless steel, which would be ideal. Unfortunately, they decided to go cheap on the screws that hold it all together. They are not Stainless steel and the second you get this item wet the rusting of those screws begins. No idea why this manufacturer chose to save 1-2 cents per slicer and move away from a quality screw that won't rust, but nevertheless, the screws they used are cheap and rust very easily. The rest of the cheese slicer seems great quality though so I will go get my own stainless steel screws and replace the rusted screws and this slicer should last a while. If the screw were of the same quality this slicer would get 5 stars.

Nice slicer. Easy to use and clean. The cutting wire that comes with it is about .017”. A little thick for delicate cheeses. I tried .010 guitar string. That was too thin for as wade as the cutter is. It stretched too much. So I tried a .014 guitar string, just right.
