I had a Pen mini for many years but it the shutter button broke and I decided to upgrade mainly because I wanted a camera that had a built in viewfinder and was compatible with the lenses and accessories that I had purchased for the Pen mini. I love the camera but was a little disappointed to find out that it does not have the same accessory port as the Pen mini had. I had an external mike from Olympus which plugged into the accessory port. The OM D does not have an external microphone jack either. Otherwise I would have rated the cameral as 5 stars.

HORRIBLE Did not even get a camera that takes picture. Got a ridiculously heavy piece of crap that shows nothing on screen or in the lense. DO NOT PURCHASE. I will obviously be returning this. I could have gotten a better one for $300 less at target or walmart!

This was my first time playing with micro 4/3, it was a lot of fun and very light weight. Definitely not my style but a great camera i prefer my big canon DSLR.

This is my first digital camera, I did a lot of research and watched a lot of YouTube videos. I am extremely happy that I bought this camera. I have found it to have the perfect size and features for my needs. It is also light and compact but offers a good grip for my hands. I don't have small hands nor huge hands. Perhaps someone with thick fingers may not find it very easy to grip. I have had it for 8 weeks and I have been learning quite a bit about photography. I have used it a lot on the outside with cold weather and snow, and also on the inside. I bought two lenses for it, nothing fancy but useful a 12-50 and a 40 to 150 mm one and I have had the opportunity to learn many futures of the camera with both. For beginners like me, I would love for companies like Olympus to have in-depth training videos for the camera. The many menus offer some good but limited information but I still think there is room for a video, I would not have minded paying for it. Many reviewers comment on the fact that it is only 16MP. However, it has not been an issue whatsoever for me, the largest print size for me was 8x10 and it looked beautiful. I still have a lot to learn but I feel very happy to have a great camera to start a new hobby with the right tool. I should also mention that value for price is hard to beat on this camera and the 4K video sold it for me. One complaint is about shooting moving objects and I have only had a couple of chances to do it but I was happy with the results when I had to do it fast and not with "auto" but I will need a lot more to really say. I am posting a couple of pictures for which I have not done any editing yet. I hope you like them. Look and evaluate your other options from Sony, Panasonic and Fuji but do take a good look at this camera. Remember there will always be those who love it and those who hate it. I am on fully on camp 1.I spent 1300 CND included the two lenses, extra charger, extra batteries, a camera bag, and two different tripods.

Really like this camera for 4k video, it isn't perfect. There is no s-log/super flat profile but you can sort of get flat with the custom profile. No microphone input which is unfortunate but the 5-axis stabilization is incredible for quality run and gun video. Can't comment on the photography side of this camera, heard auto-focus isn't the best but for me in video I always use manual focus and doesn't impact me.

Works great, I’ve been using Olympus Cameras for about 40 years. Started off with an OM1, then OM2, then PEN E-P1, and now the OM-D E-M10 Mk III. They are worth every penny, and then some. What I like Most about the Olympus Cameras are there metering system, and lens coatings. Best on the market! Love the size, weight and retro look also. They suite my budget and needs in a camera system. I have other SONY and Nikon Cameras, but I always come back to Olympus Cameras. Never disappointed with their quality. This camera have lots more features than I expected in a camera. Technology have really come a long way since my OM1!

This is my EM10 Mk2 review======================Sunny Days - Direct access to functions while using EVFI do all pre-exposure and post exposure viewing through the electronic viewfinder(EVF) on the bright sunny days when the back display is not viewable. I can try a few exposure techniques in the bright sunlight with direct access to the functions I need, without fishing or two step process.I start with auto mode. I can look thru the EVF and still touch the LCD panel and drag the focus box. Then I go to aperture priority , tweek the exposure compensation on the front wheel (default setting). Still no menu fishing. Magnify is reasigned to BTN1 magnify in the multi function instead of the stand alone magnify. Manual focus is reassigned to BTN 2 to further verify focus along with Magnify. Hit the shutter. Then I go to HDR reassigned to REC. The exposure comp on the front wheel will work along with HDR. SO, with my buttons reassigned with new functions, I can try a few exposure techniques in the bright sunlight with direct access to the functions I need, without menu fishing or two step process.

You have to reset the date and time every time you change the battery, and in less than two years the usb port stopped working.

Great update of the original OM-D E-M10. It adds 4K video and an easier menu system and takes great pictures like its previous models. I'm not sure that anyone owning the OM-D E-M10II would benefit much to upgrade to this model, unless they want the 4K video. I own the original E-M10 and I am really enjoying some of the newer features. It is easy to use for beginners and a good way to get started in more advanced photography.I think more advance photographer would also like the camera. I love the size and weight of the Olympus micro four third cameras. They are great for travel with very little compromise in picture quality when compared with larger sensor cameras.

I was having a difficult time deciding whether I wanted this camera or the Sony A6000. I ended up with this one mainly because of the in body image stabilization. At the end of the day, the ability to take indoor shots without worrying about serious image distortion is a blessing. In the subjective realm, I felt like this camera was more fun to shoot with. I don't do this professionally, instead for a hobby, so the entertainment aspect of photography is significantly more important that the actual outcome. What I also found the E-M10 to be superior in when comparing the A6000 is auto focus. The ability to quickly pick a new focus point on the E-M10 is a huge factor when trying to get a good shot of an ephemeral moment; the A6000 was incredibly clumsy when it came to the selection of a focal point.Over all, I think this is a great camera that takes great pictures. The image stabilization was the feature that made we buy this, but the subjective reason was how intuitive the menu/auto focus selection is for me. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

Save money buy the Olympus EM10 MK2 instead of the EM10 MK3.Here are the reasons why:1. They changed the ports and there’s no remote shutter cable connector.2. They took away a lot of programmability on the function buttons.3. They took away the programmability on the direction pad.4. One less programmable function button.5. They took away the “Myset” preset option.6. They also eliminated the wireless RC flash function. As far as I can tell the only positive changes are:1. An improved processor which makes negligible improvement in photo quality.2. 4k video capability.3. An additional art filer.4. Changes in the grip and aesthetics.Understand that I’ve been an Olympus fan and user since 1980 but I feel like they let us down this time. I have both of these cameras and absolutely LOVE my EM10 MK2, but I will be returning the MK3. I believe the things they’ve taken away outweigh the improvements. If you have remote cables and wireless shutter releases from other Olympus cameras you cannot use them with the EM10 MK3 as there is no port for them. It appears the only way to remotely trigger the camera is with the OL Share app on a smartphone, pretty lame in my opinion. I know they say this is a beginner level “step up” camera, and I don’t consider myself a beginner in photography after 37 years of taking photos, but this is way too limited and too Fisher Price on some of the menus for my liking. In the ads they proudly tout the improvements but neglect to mentions the things that are no longer there. Even beginners might like to have a camera that can grow with them instead of one they’ll quickly grow out of. I hope this honest review will help someone with their purchasing choice. You cannot go wrong with the EM10 MK2 and it’s a great camera and learning tool beginner or not and $150 cheaper! Both of the attached photos were taken with the Olympus 12-40mm Pro lens. The first one was taken with the EM10 MK2 and the second with the EM10 MK3. There's hardly any noticeable difference in quality.
