It carries a faint pleasing, natural aroma. For various food products Carnauba wax is used as a coating/ hardened outer layer (gum, candy, chocolaty treats). Great ingredient to use in DIY products for cosmetics, personal care, medicinal applications and for polishing. Melting point is around 180 F, typical amount used in cosmetic formulation 5% to 40%. Acts as a thickener, emollient, moisturizer and consistency enhancer. Great ingredient to use when making such products such as creams, ointments, balms, lip sticks, lip gloss, chap-stick, and deodorant. I use this to melt down and combine and formulate my own hybrid paste wax blends for use on finished woodwork, gun stocks, auto finisnes etc. A very nice quality, clean, carnauba wax.

I was already using a food grade mineral oil and bees wax mixture, so adding the carnauba wax gives me a greater sense that my wood products as being protected. There is also a distinct difference in the finish.

I know it says this is supposed to be an emulsifier for oils however I used it on some leave-in I made with honey and aloe vera and it actually kept everything from separating not just the oils.
