Main thing I disliked was I purchased cause was in need for emergency had overnight shipping once recieved it had no quick couplers just gauge and hose and otc used a specific coupler for thier otc adapted and can't be purchased separately. Was forced to return and pay more money for one locally.

Used this on my mercedes benz diesel ( 2006 e320 cdi om648 engine)worked flawlessly! Extra information, use the OTC 6076 Compression Test Adapter if you want it to work for your cdi or sprinter!

This is a great compression gauge for Diesel engines. The built in check valve works great and does not leak like the schrader valve in most glow plug adapters. With that said, make sure there is NO Schrader valve in your adapter otherwise you’ll get a higher compression reading then what it actually is. I tested this with and without the schrader valve in my glow plug adapter and then compared to 2 other compression gauges. The readings were about 65-70psi higher with the schrader valve installed in the glow plug adapter

Item worked just as described. seen many complaints about the needle not being set to 0 upon arrival, inside teh cover is a knob to 0 out the gauge. worked great for my 2004 6.0 powerstroke

If you have a 7.3 Powerstroke, those cheap universal / diesel specific compression test kits are a waste of your time and money. I have one that says on the box it works with the 7.3 Powerstroke, and it includes all manner of adapters, including the right thread for my glow plug holes, but the quick coupler doesn't clear the recess in the head casting. Nothing will, when you see it, unless it's purpose-made - it needs to be looong, with the coupler end many inches above the threads. The OTC adapter is perfect, but you need the right type of quick coupler on the gauge side, so you'll need the OTC gauge as well. Would have saved me a few hours trying to make something work, as well as the $50 or so worth of useless adapters I have (having now destroyed the better part of the cheapie test kit trying to make my own adapter).

NOT THE BEST GUAGE OUT THERE!

Not accurate can't calibrate the gauge if it gets out of whack and is very bulky. The gauge face is almost 4 inches wide and the hose is stiff. For the money you can make your own tester with the purchase of some fittings and a refrigeration gauge even. Not impressed

I used this product to do a compression check on my Ford Powerstroke 7.3L diesel. Used the right OTC adapter with it, and it worked great on all 8 cylinders. Feels solid and seems to handle the pressure fine.Only minor nit with it was that the sealant that the use to plug the pieces together tends to be moist and rubs off on your hands and clothes when you first use it.But still five stars since it seems really good and does the job well.

this is a good compression guage. it's not easy to find 1/8" quick connect adapters but this guage comes with the quick connect 45 degree adapter with built in one way valve. some brands of the head adapters have the valve core in them but OTC doesn't and you need this valve for proper compression reading. Can't go wrong.
