Tired of my little #1 bottles evaporating and needing a whole new kit, I bought this and some plastic dropper bottles (something like 10 for under $10 here on Amazon). I always can test for chlorine now. Every day. Forever. lol.

I like to check the Cl level in my pool often to make sure it stays at the right level to keep the algae from starting. With all the dirt and leaves that blow into my pool, my organics level is always too high, even shortly after draining and replacing the water, so if I give it half a chance, the algae springs up. Buying those little bottles was kind of annoying and expensive, so I thought I'd give this a try. I compared this chemical to the Chlorox brand I had, and got the same colors, whether the Cl level was on the high side or the low side. It's not too hard to refill the little bottle from this big one. It's a great deal.

I got tired of buying the little .75 ounce bottles to do the daily chlorine level testing on my spa, so I thought I would try this out, and am I glad I did. Works just the same, and ALOT cheaper. I just use it to refill the tiny bottles that I can squeeze out the 4 drops to do the testing. Hoping it will last for the next decade. My spa has made it 15 years and keeps on pumping. Love it!

This solution seems to turn yellow in the presence of chlorine ions.
