It really gets you the nicest homemade mashed potatoes. I have made homemade mashed potatoes for Easter and two other occasions. In the three times I have used it while it works well. I am kinda torn how big it is. I have carpel tunnel and my strength in my hands is not what it used to be. This kitchen utensil is bigger than your normal size. I found storing it a little odd and there are sharp edges you have to be careful with. While it was trial and era with me, the product works. It’s sufficient and gets you the best mashed potatoes. I’m rating it four stars for the bulk of it. If you’re stronger in the wrist than me than I feel it will work wonders for you.

I just used this last night. It is heavy and I like that it has three different sized plates available depending on what you are trying to "rice". Whatever you are putting through there needs to be completely cooked or you will have some trouble. I used potatoes that were well-cooked and soft, and they went through well. My problem with it is the top, circular press piece doesn't always set right. If I open the ricer completely up before trying to press the potato through it mostly sat flat so I could press it out. If I didn't open the press all the way up, I had to play with that circular press to get it to go down over the potato.Did it get the job done? yes it did. I don't care for the sharper edges on the hand piece. A cleaning brush was also included. I didn't find it necessary to use as I washed it immediately after using it, but I can see where it might come in handy.

Very, very well made. Solid, good heft and balance. It's shorter than the other ricers I've owned over the years, so it is much easier to store. Cleans easily. I LOVE the three disks to select the size of the riced potatoes. This is the only way to make mashed potatoes, IMO. The included peeler works very well too! Nice added bonus.

There's plenty to like about this potato ricer, but I'll skip right to the point and explain why I gave it only 3 stars: Every time, and do mean EVERY time that I got to the end of pushing a potato through the holes and pulled the handle back to load the tube/basket again, the disk with the holes at the end came up attached to the bottom of the push disk. EVERY time, I had to pry the disk with holes away and then position it back at the bottom of the tube. It was a big pain. This is a problem with the very basic functionality that the potato ricer is supposed to provide. You want to be able to drop in some potatoes, squeeze, open the handle, and drop in some more in quick succession. Having to pry the disk with holes off of the plunger/push disk is an unreasonable extra step. For the record: I followed the instructions exactly before working with the ricer. It's a real shame, because I have recently gotten into making mashed potatoes. I bought a different style of ricer the other day (the kind where the basket looks like a triangle) and was excited to be able to compare the two. This ricer has some benefits over the other model I bought. This one does a better job of pushing all the potato through the holes. (The other one left a big layer of potato inside the basket.) This one is easier to clean too. While both ricers pushed the potato through relatively easily, I do have to say that this one was a little harder to push potatoes. (I compared them side by side multiple times using the same batch of warm, just-cooked potatoes. I would not have removed any stars for this tiny difference, but it is worth noting in case someone needs the squeeze effort to be as easy as possible. Both ricer models did an equally good job at producing riced potato. One thing that I especially liked about this model is how easy it is to scrape the potato strands off the disk. The other model is shaped in a way that the scraping step is awkward and just doesn't work as well. Too bad about the disk sticking problem. I would have really liked to have given this ricer the full 5 stars.

The timing could not have been any more perfect for this to show up, I had it originally ordered this potato ricer quite some time ago and I've been patiently waiting for it to arrive. And low and behold it shows up for Easter dinner. I was so very happy something I found that I completely forgot about is there's a potato ricer which I'm used to which is little tiny pieces but then there's also larger ones so you can change out the sizes of whatever it is that you're rising so I think this is like one of the best potato rices I've ever seen to be able to switch out to four different size rice squishy's.It also came with a cleaning utensil to clean the the little grate the metal holes out in the disc. And it also had a peeler so that was really awesome I remember my some of my fondest moments when I was a child we would go to my great-grandmother's house and I thought it was the coolest thing that we had wormy potatoes that's what I called them wormy potatoes. So to be able to have them again and it's been so many years brought back so many memories and it was a special day it was the first Easter that I had with my new family so wonderful memories wonderful item if you've never had racy potatoes you should try them I also got this so that I could try to do cauliflower and make cauliflower pizza crust and things like that.I imagine you can put anything through the riser so keeping that in mind I'm so super excited.Thank you for taking a moment to read my review I hope this turns a light bulb on above your head to anything possible that you could put through this ricer.

Arrived sort of beat up. The metal and rubber, handle on front, was broken off inside the box. It was barely spot welded, likely due to incorrect amperage settings. The polishing is very good, but they should have smoothed the sharp edges, from the sheet metal stamping. I will need to sand those edges, so I don't cut myself, while using The sheet metal is sort of thin, which make it a bit flimsy.
