Your cart is empty.This cast iron extension increases functionality of the Powermatic 2020B Lathe. When mounted level with the lathe bed, it increases bed length by 18". It can be mounted in lower position for outboard turning, and the provided extension post raises the tool rest to centerline.

didn't need it to extend my lathe wanted to turn bigger bowls. biggest so far 25n inch . doing a 28 inch one right now. don't forget to order a bigger face plate when turning bigger bowls I have from 3 inch to 10 face plates

If you have the space I recommend buying it. We bought the Powermatic 3520B and purchased the extension at the same time to give more room to slide the tail stock out of the way. I built a removable wood top to double as another work bench when not using the lathe so this provided the needed clearance. It's powermatic too but the mustard color is a little different and no racing stripes like the lathe; not that I cared but was surprised to see considering what I expect from Powermatic.The lathe bed itself is high quality with extremely low tolerance between the two, and there are no centering pins to make it a quick mount. Alignment was not easy but I figured out that I could use the tail stock between the two and locked down while tightening the bolts. It is accurate, dead solid, and transforms my 3520B into a machine that can make any size bowl I may want and any length spindle I may need for my furniture making. It also provides the additional length required to get the tailstock out of the way when I need to use really long-handled deep hollowing tools.

Bought my Powermatic Lathe 3 years ago. Has lived up to my expectations in every way. I wanted a little more length over the bed to handle longer projects. Have not turned a large bowl as of yet but have some bowl stock of about 32" diameter and am looking forward to finding some time and try my hand at a very large center piece bowl.

The lathe SHOULD have been longer in the first place. This extension does the job, is very heavy, and lines up well.

I bought this to add much needed functional length to my Powermatic 3520 Lathe. It arrived promptly and in good condition. It's straight forward to install, but get a helper if you can. It is HEAVY and lining up the screws with one hand while holding the attachment in the other is doable but not so much fun. Clean and wax the top to prevent corrosion from turning green wood just as you would the Lathe top.
