Works Amazing for Shortening 6in PVC Pipe Extensions for Catch Basins. I was looking for something to cut down the pipe and this worked great, takes a little getting used to, but by the 3rd on it was smooth as butter. I would suggest scoring the interior so you keep the cut somewhat level. I rarely write reviews, but this one deserves me taking the time. Hope this helps other in the future!

Do yourself a favor and practice on a scrap piece of pipe. Once you get the hang of it's a useful tool for certain situations.

Cutoff wheel worked though use caution. STUFF SOMETHING IN THE HOLE BEFORE USING! First attempt the cutting wheel unit detached from the drill (I don’t believe it was the tool at fault).Took about 3 hours to finally extract it from sewer drain line, mainly because of twists, turns and depth. Between pronged grab tool and extended magnet was able to fish it out. So close so many times!Round wood jig, larger than pipe, was my guide to get a level cut at depth I needed. Would be challenging to use ‘free hand’.The tool appears to be sturdy enough, though can’t say how many times it’ll cut as I only needed it once (so far) …Good luck!

I have two 4-inch ABS sewer line clean-outs that were a trip hazard because they were above ground. When attached to my cordless drill both were clipped to even with ground in less than ten minutes. The best part is that it cuts from inside the pipe, so I did not need to dig out a large section, as I would have had to do if the cut was made from the outside. All I had to do was scratch out enough so that I could put the cap back on after cutting. At first, until the blade sinks into the plastic the drill bounces about a little, but once it saws through the starting point, it cuts very nicely.Very nice tool for home-project type work.

needed this tool to finish a job and was worried about the reviews saying it was missing a washer. to my surprise it did come with a washer and worked great. thr trick is to let the blade get to a good speed then slowly let it bite. once it starts to run or rattle you need to back out a bit and repeat. great tool. very sharp and well built.

My intention was to use this to trim back our drain field clean outs.It did work, but here is what I found.Others have recommended shoving a towel down the pipe, just in case.I would HIGHLY recommend this.Because of the way I was having to hold my drill, I inadvertently loosened the chuck & in turn the bit fell out.I fished mine out with a string & magnet. If you are cutting pipe, that is in the ground like I was, I found the best method was to start at about 6 o'clock. One hand on the trigger the other close to the chuck, (just not on the chuck). This helped keep it stable & from bouncing around. Once you get the initial hole started it's like cutting butter. Just hold the bit tight to inside of the pipe and cut away! The unfortunate problem I had was that I didn't first try cutting at 6 o'clockish & I slightly bent my bit. When I went to start the cut it got very sloppy & started bouncing around. .... bent slightly. It still works, but it's much harder trying to get the cut going now because the blade doesn't stay perfectly aligned. It works great. Just don't over force it or apply too much pressure. Once you are cutting stick with it & it's seriously like butter!I wish I had known this going into it!
