There isn't too much I can say about this. It's must have for DIY battery packs. It looks like the same stuff being used on many of the premade packs I have ordered. I think the biggest concern is just that you buy the appropriately sized option for the pack you plan to make. It does shrink when you apply heat but there is no way to make it bigger if you get too small a size. My experience with the wrap for large packs is limited but this seems good so far.

This product is a Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) polymer material that is formed in a tube and rolled flat for storage and shipping. The PVC polymer material has the ability to shrink by approximately 50% when heat is applied. The cited temperature to apply to provide for proper shrinkage is 80°C and it generally is applied using an electrical heat gun although a propane or butane burner may be used, if one is very careful. This product is usually used to surround and envelop lithium-ion battery packs once the electrical connections have been made and the necessary insulating materials have been applied. The purpose is to hold the batteries in position and to protect the batteries and their connections from impacts and abrasions. I prefer to use the PVC shrink wrap material instead of alternative materials such as fiberglass tape.The Amazon page for this product says that the flat tube is “200mm (3.9”)” wide. Being an American, I naturally used the inch measurement when deciding if the product would fit my needs. The 3.9-inch flat tube measurement would have been just great. Unfortunately, 200mm is equivalent to 7.87 inches not 3.9 inches. When I saw how large the flat tube was, I reviewed the Amazon page and also got out my tape measure. I also noted that the Amazon page, in one of the graphics provided, also says that the flat tube measures 5.9 inches. That is not correct either. Consequently, the product is quite large and I do not know if the 50% shrinkage rate will tighten the wrap sufficiently for my needs.The product appears to be adequate for the purpose intended. It has a nice slick and shiny surface and is a nice blue color.

I've used a few of these so far and I like the way they fit after you heat shrink them.
