Ham bands ok but fm radio no reception of strong signal unless radio held high in air for strong station. Am no reception with the am antenna and squelch has to be set to zero to hear anything on fm and for am at least you hear noise. I will use the Hf and am antenna to make a crystal radio. Software only accepts 3 digit am frequency so 870 550 950 works but 1070 1170 etc software does not let you put the frequency in so assume they are Chinese frequencies that only use 3 digit am frequency. Ham radio vhf uhf works ok. Weather reception poor and have to hold in air to catch wx channel. My other handhelds have fm radio that catches stations as good as any table radio and wx station 10 times more sensitive. It does work on 220 ham bands. I also updated to the latest firmware. Radio worth $10 because the ham bands work only. Menu system poor and I programmed one button for radio and it just sits there in radio mode doing nothing and no key makes it works and no channel displays. I will let you know if those extra antennas work for crystal radio.

Lots of functionality if you can figure it out. When I sit down with this radio, I usually have the manual and youtube close by. If you want a two meter radio, get a 2 meter radio. If you want to do SWL, get a separate radio. If you enjoy puzzles, get this radio lol. The software works well. They could use some better documentation on programming and general use of the radio. Dont forget, if you are going to listen to shortwave, you need an antenna. If you use an external antenna, dont forget to order SMA adapters, cables etc .. I think I'll enjoy this as I figure out what buttons to push for what, but until then, its a good build with a poor interface.

This radio does almost everything I could expect a handheld to do. It can be used for amateur radio and GMRS. ALL functions can be programmed through the keypad or by the easy to use download able CPS program. It has plenty of memory and "zones" to keep every thing organized.Unfortunately I had to return the first radio because I got a bad battery, it just would not take a charge. Amazon swiftly sent out a new one and now I am very happy.

Outstanding product with support so fast you will not believe! I inadvertently adj my contrast so high that I couldn't see almost nothing on screen. I thought the radio was defective so I reached out to support who promptly replied and I sent a 5 sec video they told me exactly what the issue was and I adjusted the settings back and 3 seconds later I was back in business. I must say again this was my fault, but they didn't judge or belittle me in any way! Awesome company I have already ordered the Radtel rt-880! Thank you Radtel !!!!!

It's a strong and sturdy radio. It took me a while to figure out the channel frequencies but, outdoors the signal was strong. Audio is crisp. I recommend a different twig than the one it comes with. Very pleased

This radio has many features that supplement the typical VHF/UHF radio, like its powerful programming abilities and many listening bands, e.g. air band. The negative for the radio is the poorly written manual, which makes the learning process very time consuming. Additionally, like many low cost ham radios, spurious emissions are problematic. Overall for the price, it's a nice radio.

Love it! Just love this radio. I also ordered the 880 now too from Radtel. Quality radio, the belt clip is super strong and nice and tight. Good battery life, the dohnut antennas are not real good though. I got a telescoping CB antenna for HF at 27MHz. Overall this is a great radio for the price. It's a low price, super budget radio that does a LOT!

Bel prodotto,il manuale è in inglese ma si trova on line anche in italiano,ci sono video che aiutano a comprendere le varie funzioni.Se abitate in zona poco coperta non aspettatevi grandi cose.Si può aggiornare e bisogna acquistare il cavetto proprio e cercare qualche video in internet per capire come si fa,nulla di complicato.

I've been a licensed Ham for about 20 years now. There is a big learning curve using this transceiver. The instructions are absolutely useless. Prepare for lots of fiddling and learning as you go, youtube will help you some. With that said I will still give it 5 stars. The build, fit and finish is much, much better than I was expecting, and the quality of the plastic used is great. The audio is very good, transmitted and also received. The display is easy to read and the keypad is lit. I'm sitting here at the moment listening to 550 AM in Chicago, I'm about 250 miles from the station. Its playing loud and clear as the speaker sounds excellent. The price I paid was $41.65 on 3/28/25.

Très bon appareil, juste que pour pouvoir l'utiliser valablement il faut le programmer, les tutoriels sont disponibles sur le net ainsi que les mises à jour sur le site du constructeur ne pas oublier de commander le cordon de programmation au moment de l'achat sinon une fois cela fait : une bonne portée, je recommande.
