It was super easy to set up and worked much better than I thought it did. I'm not sure where these bad reviews are coming from. It also seemed to improve my controller input delay but maybe thats just me idk

I gave it 5star cause it worked out of the box and its pretty much a clone of every other under $10 AV to HDMI converter box.Be aware this isnt going to give your old low resolution gamebox or vcr or whatever super high resolution, but you will get a decent enough picture, pretty much like it gave back in the day on tv's of that vintage. And it will let you use a modern monitor or tv to do this. Now also be aware two weaknesses. First the usbA to miniusb power cord is pretty wimpy. I ran into this on previous clones of this box. The ends just disintegrate. You understand the small usb end is called "mini usb" This is not the same as micro-usb used on phones and such. As matter fact its pretty well a defunct size that usually only shows up on older electronics like a PDA. Now once you understand what you are looking for, you can find much heavier duty cords meant for some older high end stuff, surplus at super cheap price, cause like say no demand anymore for mini-usb.Second weakness, there is no on/off. You either leave it on all time or you unplug it or you plug wallwart (not included) into a switchable power strip and turn off the strip. Also can say from experience I have owned a couple clones of this, probably different brand stenciled on side, but otherwise identical and you shouldnt expect it to last over couple years if used frequently. This one replaces old one that looks nearly identical that just wouldnt turn on one day. And thus the downside of cheap generic Chinese electronics. They saved that extra half penny in production costs, but that also reduced lifespan a great deal. Honestly I would be willing to pay the extra couple bucks to have it last at least ten year. But not given that option. You have the el cheapo generic stuff and then next level is many times the price and may or may not be better. Unfortunately price isnt always a good indication of quality.

I used this to convert some old analog tapes over to digital files and it worked but there were some issues with the device losing signal when the tape was auto tracking for some reason then taking awhile to come back to showing the video. Output video looking fuzzy and analog like I would expect over RCA cables but I didn't see any big deal artifacts or issues but with low quality inputs it's gonna be harder. This worked for me but I don't really have faith this thing would last a long time, it just seems like a cheap clone like all these devices like this in Amazon pretty much
