I used it for a while and it felt okay, shut the machine down and put it away. I was pretty impressed with it so I decided to order one for my pops bday present. It came in on friday, and sunday I took it over and we unboxed it and got it all set up. He has never used one before so I sat up a scrap piece of iron and proceeded to show him how easy it was, only about 2 minutes mind you. Shut the machine down and went inside to cool off some. Came back out, setup a piece of angle iron that he needed notched in a few spots, fired up machine, click and nothing would happen. Looked at the unit and protection light is on. Ran over unit for 2 hours trying to figure out what had happened to no avail so I did a internet search and tons of reports of this same thing happening. Crap,

As a DIYer I have used pilot-arc Plasma cutters and this non-pilot-arc (HF start) is new to me - making it a new learning experience. It's still too early to comment on the pros and cons of using this Reboot 60A Plasma Cutter. The build quality appears to be good. Even the cables and earth clamp look premium. The air-filter also seems to be a good one.Voltage is auto select (as with most current models). I do have 220V in my garage, and that makes it easy to run this. My experience of running this (or other high-current machines) on 110V was not good as the breakers trip whenever the compressor kicks-in.I'm operating it using a home-use type 3.8 cfm compressor @ 90 psi. Just about 30-35 psi works well for me as I mostly cut less than 1/4" steel. There's nothing much to dial-in. It's a simple machine with just the current adjust knob, and it works on 2T.

First off I want to state that I am by no means an expert on plasma cutting and have never used a plasma cutter before. I do art pieces out of metal and I have been using manual tools to cut the metal. I saw this reasonably priced plasma cutter and thought it would be a great way for me to make cutting metal easier. The plasma cutter arrive nicely packaged. I was surprised by the compact size which makes this very portable and easy to store. The cutter comes with everything you need except an air compressor, which you must provide. There is the option to use 240 or 120 Volts and I decided to use 240 volts since that provides the best cutting power. The consumables required for this plasma cutter are readily available on Amazon and inexpensive.I tried this on several different materials, including sheet metal and copper, and it cuts perfectly and very easily. This is a super easy machine to use even for a novice like myself and it definitely saves a lot of time in cutting metal.I do recommend this.

Picked this up for handyman work around the house. Cutting sheetmetal, small tube, autobody, and light fab work. Works great on 240v and will cut 3/8" to 1/2" mild steel if you take your time. 120v will limit you to light sheet metal, autobody, and thin wall tube, and you have to be willing to move slowly and take your time.It is non-touch with HF start even though it's not mentioned in the description. But I think most new units are HF start instead of the old technology of scratch start.Unit is light and small which makes it great for garage work. You can keep it put away until you need it and setup is quick and easy. Consumables are easy to find and economical to purchase. For the money this is a great little unit to keep around the house for random metal work. Works great for light fab work and doesn't take up a bunch of space. Price point is perfect for what you're getting.

This is a nice little cutter at a price point that almost anyone can justify if you do any metal work. Easy setup and you don't have to bring anything else except a hose from your air compressor. The electrodes and extended tips are easy to find on Amazon and are inexpensive and it comes with half a dozen of each to get you started. I ran the thing on 208v and it didn't complain.Has a high frequency start rather than pilot arc. I'd rather have pilot arc as I think it's easier to start on suboptimal surfaces like rust or paint, but I think that's a feature of more expensive units. Unless you're cutting primarily sheet metal, I don't recommend running the unit on 120v, but it'll work. I'm planning to use this for a local live theater - they build sets with a lot of metal components and then they tear them down again - I think this small unit will make all that easier.

Absolutely incredible tool for any metal working projects, easy to setup and use right out of the box, works amazingly well, gives you a nice clean straight cut through the material with ease, small and portable size for easy transport, overall great product that works very well for a great price.

This is an old soldier in a fresh new uniform. The PT-30 style torch is not the most advanced but it has been around quite a while, I believe it was originally a ESAB torch design.Consumables are plentiful and cheap. The machine is a high frequency start, that really does not require actual touching of the work piece, a HF spark jumps to the work much like a TIG torch. Scratch start plasmas are very old tech, I do not think any are even made these days. These machines are good basic cutters for clean cuts in 1/2' steel

For the size this is a really good plasma cutter. It can work on 120 or 240 volts and has a good duty cycle. It does not work well on aluminum though. The torch lead and ground lead are really long so you do not have to reposition the unit over and over again.

For a small home job, it's great. Not for thick plate. As a tinkerer and someone that likes to doit myself instead of paying someone else to do things this is great. Was able to cut some of the bad spots out of my trucks body and not have the jagged lines so the replacement panels fit nice. There is a bit of a learning curve but that's half the fun I think.
