About this item

  • Including tank heaters (1, 2, or 3), elbow pipe heaters (1, 2, or 3), toggle switches (single, double, or triple), and wire to connect them, you are all set to install your heating and insulating system for your RV’s plumbing.
  • While tank heater pads have an automatic sensor that tells them to turn on or off, elbow heater pads do not. For this reason, we include the Made in America single, double, or triple toggle switch with the kit.
  • Backed by years of experience and testing, these pads are capable of providing reliable heating even though temperatures down to 11°F, depending on the design of your RV and proper installation of the pads. With these heater pads on your side, you can brave the winter season while keeping your plumbing system safe and operational.

Product Description

Heater Pad Kit
Heating Pad Kit

Heat

Both the tank heater pads and the elbow heater pads are specifically designed to insulate and heat your tanks and pipe elbows, respectively. Used by RV owners for years, they provide warmth and water safety down to -11° F, depending on your RV’s design and if the pad was properly installed. The tank heater pad measures 12” W by 18” L and the elbow heater pad measures 13” L by 3” W. Both pads are 3.0 MM thick and are rated for 13.5V DC. The tank heater pad covers fresh, grey, and black water tanks up to 50 gallons and includes a 36” lead wire. The elbow heater pads are to be used with 3” elbow pipes and come with an 18” lead wire

Convenience

While the tank heaters have automatic sensors telling them when it is time to turn on and off, the elbow heater pads do not. Because of this, the toggle switch is easy to use and read, with a clearly defined label on it as well as an LED light built into the switch, allowing you to see whether the heater pads are on even in the middle of the night.

Because the control panel is rated for 20 amps, make sure that the circuit of heater pads does not exceed this amount. If it does, make sure to include more than one toggle switch to handle the electric flow.

Although this product seemed to answer the problem of having to constantly winterize my 5th wheel every time I use it during the winter months, in fact it would not for a couple of reasons…1-there is no direct access to the top of the tanks except by having to open up the bottom and drop the tanks, which must be done by a rv professional shop, which charges a few hundred to do the work.2-although the heaters would keep the tanks and elbow warm, it would not do anything to prevent the pipes r running throughout the RV from freezing and cracking, especially the vulnerable tankless hot water heater.3-if installed, in order to operate, the pad control panel must be hooked up to the 12V electrical system. Unless the RV is connected to shore power, the pads will quickly drain the house batteries on my RV even though I have solar charging.4-Based on the above, I returned the product, unopened for a refund.

As described. Use eternabond or vinyl tape around edges, as I'm not confident these wouldn't peel off no matter how clean you get the tanks.I also feel they could have done a better job sealing the entry point of the wires to the pad. I mean, these things are exposed on the underbelly of your rig, so every effort to prevent water infiltration should be taken.Take the extra steps to seal and secure and they should work fine. Have not had any freeze ups in extended temps

These tank heaters are an exceptional value for what you get peace of mind that you won't be freezing up in your tanks and your your underbelly piping not too hard to work with but you only get one chance to stick it so you better make it right highly recommended

This product would have been soo much faster to install had there been a diagram for the swing and directions. Even my electrician was scratching his head . What could have been a two hour install took all day. Spent more time watching videos on installing from different manufacturers. Even tried going online to RecPro themselves and that was a total waste of time. Cross fingers all was plugged in to the correct slot on the switch.

Bought this as a gift for our granddaughter who is working in a national park this summer and needed it because it was still below freezing & still snowing when she got there. She said it was easy to install (she did it herself) and is very happy with how it worked for her. She's had no problems with it and it's been approx. 3 months now.

The glue is incredibly strong, it's really gonna be hard peeling off this failed product. I am a 30 year electrician, the wiring diagram for the switches was useless, if you fail to read this review and buy the product, use a meter to check the terminals for function. If these heaters where reliable, it would be a great product. Each large pad pulled 5 amps at 14vdc, the elbows pulled 500mA. Praying for warmer weather so my fresh water tank stops freezing, fortunately no leaks yet. You have 30 days to return, they failed in 40 days. No warranty. Made in China.
