Serie T

REL Acoustics Tzero

Serie T subwoofers are every bit a REL, just designed to enhance the soundstage in the unique spaces we live. We started with the end user in mind, taking into account the challenges and opportunities smaller studios or apartments and studies or home offices present. Tzero reflect this end-use design, providing the fast, deep, substantive bass RELs are renowned for producing in a form that doesn't just accommodate these spaces, but leverages their unique qualities. Tzero enriches even modest systems with power and natural bass, bringing the quality and full REL connectivity suite, long throw drivers and powerful, reliable amplifiers to a new lower retail point and dimension.

Our Story: We make subwoofers. That’s it. Nothing else. No distractions. Nothing to steal our focus. No kidding ourselves that we can be good at everything. No trying to conquer the whole world. We just do our best to conquer our bit of it. From the beginning this has been a labor of love, born from a desire for a more perfect sound experience. It began with one man’s dissatisfaction with the performance of subwoofers available at the time. That search for better, that pursuit of perfect sound remains the driving force behind REL. It has persisted through changes in ownership, it has driven massive advancements in technology and innovations in designs. Turning loose the power, the drama and the fun that lies within great music and movies.

Our Purpose: Each day we come in to work in pursuit of only one intention, to produce the most raw, perfect, pure sound possible, to capture the raw intention of the artist. We use the best quality materials, employ the most exacting construction requirements. We think of the problem holistically. We pursue the chase of the perfect experience of sound with an obsessive passion and vigor.

We do it because we love sound. We believe sound can move people more than any other sense. We believe it’s the integration of the bass via the perfect subwoofer that makes everything else better. And, ultimately, there is a great deal of satisfaction to be gained from doing this well, creating something of unique quality, such that you know it is going to inspire. It makes the hard work and the obsessing over each and every detail worth all the effort. That’s our reward.

Our Way: We obsess over the details, never satisfied, never finished, constantly refining, simplifying, building iteratively upon what has come before. This is the path to perfection, a never ending pursuit for better. We view the challenge simply, as the need to transform electrical currents into soundwaves that can extend the capabilities of loudspeakers. We then approach the situation holistically, looking at every aspect of the bass engine and improving any weakness or shortfall. Constantly testing and experimenting with new materials, engineering or design. Always striving to add more value with every improvement by delivering sound experiences, timeless beauty and reliability that outweigh their cost.

We take this approach on every model, no matter its size or cost. Because we believe the pursuit of prefect sound is a worthy endeavor, one that can start anywhere and last a lifetime. We hope you’ll join us.

High Level Cable

Connect Using The High Level Cable to Your Amplifier for an Unparalleled Subwoofer Experience

Using the High Level input is always the best option. Using the High Level Input, instead of the Low Level Input, and connecting to the speaker output terminals of your amplifier is one of the unique secrets of REL’s success. When using the High Level input, your REL is fed the same signal that your main speakers are receiving. When connecting to the High Level input on the REL from the amplifier, you capture the sonic signature of your main system, including the tonal balance and timing cues of the entire electronics chain. This is a very important point and together with REL’s Active Bass Controller (ABC), ensures far superior system integration of the sub-bass with the main system.

TUNE

Subwoofer, Phase, Set-up

1. Phase

Move the phase switch from 0 to 180 positions and listen for whichever position is loudest or fullest. That is, when the position is working in harmony with your main speakers, reinforcing bass not cancelling it.

Corner Placement

2. Corner Fine Tuning

With the REL fully into the corner, and pointed to the opposite corner, continuing to play the music, slowly pull the REL from the corner on the diagonal, line to opposite corner, equidistant from both side and rear wall. At a certain point the REL will audibly play louder, go lower in frequency extension, and truly pressurize the room.

REL Acoustics, Orientation

3. Orintation

Rotate the sub on from an imagined center point at the rear of the REL listening for the greatest level of output.

Fine Tuning, Subwoofer, REL Acoustics

4. Final Settings

Now move both the High/Low Level control and Crossover control to 10 o’clock settings (15 clicks from minimum). In most cases this is just about where the settings will end up. The Level control should be at a setting where you can hear the REL even with the main speakers playing. This is Generally 15 clicks +/- 3 clicks. The Crossover control should be set to where the sub bass is not overpowering or sloppy. It should be in time with the impulses of the main speakers so you can hear the depth and dynamics of the low frequencies. Again, this setting is generally 15 clicks +/- 3 clicks.

The Rel subwoofer rounded out the sound of my JBL 4312G speakers. It added another layer of sound and picked the lower base that the speakers missed. It is amazing! Well worth the price.

As a rule, I'm not a fan of really loud bass; I like a balanced sound. I've enjoyed my magneplanar speakers (Magnepan MMG) for years without a subwoofer. But this really blends nicely with them, and adds a richness to the sound. It's also easy to hook up.

I paired the T/Zero with a pair of Vanatoo Transparent Zero speakers and I am blown away by the quality of the sub. With a Toslink connection and a decent DAC from my iMac, now my Sony XM3 headphones sound subpar. I have the sub in a room just under 200 sq ft, and it fills the room with sound!! Highly recommend

Just what my ScanSonic MB1-Bs needed. Really fills out the bottom end without being aware of it. Fills my 14x18x10 room beautifully. Mainly a jazz listener and some 60's/70's rock. T5x isn't necessary at all for me. Recommended!

È molto bello. Laccatura impeccabile.

I waited over a month to write this review so that I could have it set up perfectly. And perfection it is!First, let me tell you about my space and setup. I'm using the REL in a family area of an open kitchen. So, it only has three walls. Each of those walls is about 12 feet. I've included pictures of the space for this review. I have the sub beside the couch - kinda in a corner. My receiver is a Marantz SR6012 and my main speakers are Sonus Faber Cremona Auditors. The build quality of the REL is outstanding. It's as hard as a rock and the finish looks like the paint is still wet! The controls are super cool looking. So, this setup is not actually my main listening system. I just set this up for my casual TV area. But i have to say that it's becoming my main listening system! My main system has a vented subwoofer and while it is large and powerful, it lacks the musicality and accuracy of the REL. I have heard people talk about this tradeoff and now I know what they are talking about. I will never buy a vented sub again. My system with this REL sounds UNBELIEVABLE! I can't stop listening to it! The realism is insane! The REL has MORE than enough punch for this space! I'm actually glad I didn't get a bigger sub as I don't think it would have been as compatible with my small sized mains. What can I say bad about it? Not much. The only thing I have noticed compared to my main is that the super low end is cut off. I notice it on a couple of songs. But I really hesitate to mention this because this REL seriously kicks! I get the full "velvet hammer" with the REL in my space! And there is plenty left in it. I have the receiver setting for the sub attenuated -3db.I should also point out in my setting that the listening is really optimized for one seat on the couch. From the "golden chair," the system sounds insanely good! But even moving to the other side of the couch, the bass falls off noticeably. And in the rest of the kitchen, the bass is unremarkable. But I think this is more of a function of the positioning of the subwoofer and not any weakness relating to the REL. However, I do believe that if I moved the sub out to the open, it would have a tough time delivering the velvet hammer to the whole family room and kitchen. But that was not what I was looking for. I was looking for and got an amazing sub for watching tv or listening to music from a few listening positions.I am so impressed with this product. I will never buy anything but a REL sub. I am in the process of deciding which one to get for my main area now. The musicality and accuracy are astounding. It blends seamlessly with my mains. I don't even know it's there. Never boomy. Always tight. I wish you could all hear my system! I'm so proud of it!!! Five stars for the REL!!! You'll love it!!!!

Got a pair of this for set them on top of my REL G1 subwoofer. The new pair of REL Tzero MkIII immediately post me a big problem -- unable to successfully connect its supplied high level signal cable (Neutrik male to Neutrik female) to the sub. I am an experienced REL user. After hours of struggling I just can't rotate the Neutrik 100 degrees clockwise to complete the connection. I hate to return these sub. So I pull out my G1's cable in an attempt of connecting Tzero mkIII. With a few struggling it finally went in and the sub can play bass. After, I try to put back the new cable, it just won't connect at all (both Tzero mkIII same). A few back and forth proof new cable has mechanical tolerance issue. They need replacement. Unfortunately I was unable to use Amazon to contact the seller. I wish to resolve this issue rather than returning both Tzero mkIII.

Rel is the Lambo of subwoofers. Even their smallest sub packs enough punch to satisfy the home theater enthusiast and the refinement to please the most discriminating audiophile. Read the manual, follow the setup instructions, and you'll be rewarded for your efforts in spades.Only problem I had was with the high level cable. After hooking it up to the speaker terminals I plugged it into the Rel, but neglected to turn the connection on the sub until it clicks into place. Over the next few hours I plugged and unplugged the high level connection, reconnected the speaker cables, until I finally figure out the issue and turned the high level connector until it clicks into place. I was afraid I would break it, as it didn't turn easily.

Have it in my living room connected to the computer stereo with my ML 15s. I decided to replace it with ML Dynamo 700W, just overkill for me. . This sub is well anough for 400 sq. f. Just try it, you will not want to send it back. Make sure that you use REL`s high input connection, it makes all magic with the sound.
