I have been using this pump as a sump cleanout pump for my fish aquarium. The hose is a little stiff, but the suction cups on the bottom of the pump keep the pump in place since it's so lightweight. I did not notice in the description, but the pump does have an adjustable opening so if you want to limit flow through the pump, that is also an option.

his pump has made refilling my tanks so much easier. I just put it in the bottom of the trash can, install the tubing, plug it in and it works no problem. There is a slider on the side to change the speed a bit, part of it snapped off but I don’t know if was a user error or not, it still functions. There isn’t a filter to keep debris from getting into the pump so be sure to put it on something where no sand will access it. It works very quickly even from the floor to the tank. I really wish that there was a power button or switch on the cord close to the outlet because of course I plugged it in before I had the hose in the right place and got water on the floor. The fact that it will get the water up to ¼" deep means I’m not having to pick up the tall trash can to get the water out of the bottom into the tanks. The adjustable hanger for the hose is useful. The hose arrived with no kinks and straightened out fairly well with my hair dryer on hot. For around $30 this is a great item if you have multiple tanks to refill.

Having a very large aquarium, I needed a strong and powerful pump that would be able to get water changes done and wouldn't take literally all day. This pump not only did the job, but cut the time in less than half, of what it would usually take me to do a full water change on my tank. I love the clip that is included that holds the hose over the rim of your tank, so it doesnt slip out accidentally and spray water all over the floor, and you dont have to stand there and hold the hose, either. It's such a small and minor accessory but made quite a huge difference for me. Details below———♡✅— its powerful! it's small but nightly and pushes a lot of velocity with the water pressure.✅— the clip; as mentioned, it holds the hose in place and keeps it from accidents like slipping out and flinging water everywhere. it's a huge help!✅— the guard on the bottom of the pump is big enough to allow large detritus to flow through, but small enough so that no fish accidentally get vacuumed up, and keeps out small substrate (especially since I have sand in my tank).✅— no priming; it works right away without having to be primed or dunked in water first.❌— only con; and it's not a huge deal but id rather not have to work with extension cords, since my tank is extremely deep, i wished the power cord was at least 10 feet. it's a decent length, but for people with very large tanks (200+ gallons), you will need an extension cord for the pump.▪️OVERALL: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ it's an awesome little pump with a lot of power and a lot of capability! i like it a lot and will continue go use it until it no longer works! wonderful product! highly recommended, and love that the intake is on the bottom so it can get the water as low as possible.

Wow! This REPTIZOO low water level drain pump just improved my life greatly! I’m so so pleased with this product. I have two pet aquatic turtles in a large aquarium. Turtles are messy . Water changing and cleaning their tank is a bit time consuming and lugging buckets of water back and forth to empty and fill the tank is heavy work. I’ve had several different types of products made to drain aquariums . Some cheap pump type siphons , one rather expensive common siphon and fill product that worked great until I had to change out my bathroom faucet and tub faucet . The new style faucets are made differently and don’t allow for me to screw in the faucet attachment to use that siphon . UghhSo…when I saw this low water drain pump made by Reptizoo I decided to give it a try. From experience I know that they make quality products . This product did not disappoint.Yesterday morning I read the easy to understand instructions and had the adapter and 78 inch hose attached . So easy! I placed the pump in the bottom of my aquarium . The suction feet held securely. I decided to run the hose out my front door and off the concrete porch. Might as well water plants with the dirty turtle water. I plugged the pump in and it started working instantly. I had that tank drained with zero mess or water spilled! Yay! It only took around ten minutes to drain my tank to nearly empty! I used a small whisk broom and dust pan to removed what little waster was left in the very bottom of the tank.This low water drain pump worked perfectly! What a time saver it is! Of course I still had to carry buckets and buckets of water from my bathroom to fill the tank, but I have a plan to go to the hardware store and buy a longer length of tubing hose so that I can reach a bit further outside to drain the tank water further off of my porch . Plus I may be able to fill the tank by placing a bucket with a longer tubing hose under my bathtub spigot and let it run so that I can pump water back in to the aquarium ! That will make having this product even better!The maintenance and cleaning of this pump is straightforward and easy.If one has a turtle tank I would very much recommend this product!It would also work well in about any size aquarium. The pump footprint is not large so could be used easily in any aquarium over ten gallons!

The ideal pump to empty a tank and also fill it up if you don't have a hose near by! Minimal noise. You can adjust the water speed. Great value.

When I got this I thought it was a low water filter. I have a tortoise with a small pool in his enclosure and thought this would be helpful.I was wrong, and right!I've used it now to empty the water from his enclosure and from the bottom of the aquarium.It was a fortuitous misunderstanding. I have always struggled with clearing that last bit of water out of the aquarium.This has some nice features like shutting off on its own when there's no more water. The suction cups keep the pump securely on the bottom. The clips keep the hose from falling and making a mess. And it's plenty powerful for its size.Turned out to be very happy with this little guy.
