So far, so good. I have used two of these without failure yet.

It scared me because on start up it was loud but it quieted down after a minute or so. It's quiet and doesn't him like some have said. It was a good gamble for me.

I read the reviews, yes it’s a bit whiny over oem but it works great. Most people don’t realize the main failure reason of the alternator on odyssey/j35 engine is the Vtec/vcm solenoid gasket “some call it a spool gasket”. What happens is Oil leaks out onto the alternator which will cause it to fail and which most people will replace the alternator and a few months later it fails again due to the oil leak. So anyone that reads this replace that gasket if you see oil leaking onto it from that solenoid before you ruin another alternator. Also another advice is if you use an aftermarket gasket for it swap the oem metal screen or your car will go into limp mode. You will thank me later! Good luck!

Unreliable. If you need the alternator replaced, go to rock auto and order the reman Denso alternator instead of buying off Amazon. Also, it is recommended to replace the gaskets of the vcm on the passenger side of the engine, directly above the alternator which is the #1 reason alternator on this engine fails in the first place. I had that taken care of and after the gaskets were replaced I installed this alternator. It failed to keep up with the electrical demands after only 2 weeks and nearly left my family and I stranded 200 miles from home. Just pay the extra money and go to Rockauto.com and buy the Denso alternator which is OEM. Pretty upset I had to replace this twice within one month. Glad for the refund at least.

I believe after a week we should go back to the garage and tighten a screw or the belt itself for the noise reduction. Because on the day we put it in, it was perfect. But after some days it started. But I don’t believe it’s in the alternator itself, but in the pieces around it. We also needed to sand it to fit.

Product purchased for 2015 Honda Odyssey. Parts fits so no issue with that. Item installed and proper voltage (14.8V) output. Drove car for a few days with no issue, then went on a long road trip. Alternator died with about 300 miles after installation. Not the reliability one would expect. I would not recommend buying this and installing unless you are willing to have your vehicle die requiring a tow. I managed to get below the 100 mile range that AAA would tow, but ended up with a heft fee for toll road. Stay clear. You've been warned ⚠️
