This product is expensive but worth it. Don't mess with thing guage wire unless you have a small lawn or don't mind spending all your free time maintaining the fence and looking for breaks. This wire is amazing durable and can withstand a taste of my weed wacker.

The wire was put down about a month or two ago. It works well. The only issue I had with it is that there were two clean broken spots on one wire (one spool). So they are spots that are not waterproofed. Black tape is all we had. If that holds up, it works great. So far so good.

Put in around apx 10 acres worth of underground fence, using the 14 guage wire. Highly recommend the use of the tougher, thicker wire - especially when running it long distances or going through woods and over creeks like we did. Glad to find the solid copper wire, which will not corrode or break as badly as the other wire. Good stuff, very happy with it. This size roll is easy enough to work with - also bought one roll of 3000' - *BIG* mistake for me; it was very difficult for me to manage by myself, but wanted it splice free. TRUST me - splices are fine!

Used to install husqvarna automower. This wire is heavy duty and hopefully will resist accidental cuts. I mostly buried the wire with a cable trencher but in some areas it’s on the surface and very visible as the jacket is a bright neon green which may be intentional from manufacturer. Very pleased with the product.

Never install the wire that comes with your dog fence, it won’t last because it is too thin. I wish I would have purchased this at the time of initial installation because it’s very heavy duty and will probably last a long long time.

This was an excellent price and worked perfectly, I had the cheap 22 gauge yellow wire and with the cold new england winter's my electric dog fence would not stay connected, this was well worth the bump.in price.

Really solid product. Still as easy to install as the 20 gauge, which broke in multiple places. Thickness works great and plugs easily into my electric fence unit. And it works. You could even leave it above ground, it's so sturdy. Save yourself a lot of grief and buy 40 gauge wire. Very good product and very happy with my purchase.

Excellent product. The 14-gauge is more substantial than 16-gauge (either one works), and it is still easy to lay in and bury. I like the solid core, as opposed to a stranded core, and it was easier to install in the system. Can't beat the price, as well.

Much heaver than the stock wire that comes with the underground fences. I purchased this because I ran one side of my previous underground fence in a wooded area and got tired of searching for breaks in the line. I haven't installed this as of writing this review but it appears to be a substantially better grade of wire than what I used the first time. I also thought of purchasing regular THHN 14 AWG from my local electrical warehouse but they told me that previous customers have tried it and it didn't hold up if that helps anyone.

This is one heavy duty wire. Why did i ever repair the cheap yellow wire in the fence kit so many times. To those first time pet fence users spend the extra $$ and save yourself re installing new wire and repairing breaks in the yellow wire and get this 14ga wire. Hopefully i'll never need to use my wire break detector again.Just installed this 14ga wire. One other reviewer said his was not the stated length but noticeably shorter, hopefully just a one time error. Mine was exactly 500' as my previous kit yellow 500' wire fit my property exactly and this did too.The only concern/difficulty is the 14ga is a bit heavy / thick for the push connections on the transmitter and lightining protector. I will have to secure the wires so they don't slip out, no big deal.After 6 months of the yellow wire failure my 2 cockers still knew the boundary until last week one ran into the street. I then knew i had to address this repair NOW.Setting on transmitter is at a lower setting, couldn't be more pleased that all is as it should be.
