These are very convenient to always have your chalk handy. Stick the end in your pocket for easy retrieval. With these type of chalk holders there is always a problem with the chalk piece breaking away from the stick part that has the pik. This one hasn't broken yet but it is just a matter of time since it always happens with every brand eventually. It is worth it as long as you don't expect it to last forever. The pik is very useful since whenever you do feel the need to use it you will want to immediately chalk afterward.

I have purchased similar pool chalk holders before, and find them much more convenient than the constant search for the house chalk cubes. The little triangular pieces of wire used to join the stick to the chalk surround is a failure point and I replace them with a short piece of cord. These are of more substantial gauge and will likely suffice. I do not think I will ever find the need for the cue tip on the end of the holding stick, or the hidden cue tip pricker (unless I want to give someone a neurology exam). The item is well made and will likely provide years of enjoyment.
