Excellent little transfer pump that works perfectly on my sailboat to pump out my ballast tank.

So I'm a saltwater tank hobbyist. When I built my house I wanted to enable old and new saltwater to be moved under the house slab into 2 tanks from my garage where the 'fish room' is located. So I put this pump inline with 3/4" PVC and Pex plumbing and it works fantastic. I can pull water out of my fishtanks and into the garage sink then move new saltwater from trashcans in the garage into the tanks. No more carrying buckets around! Gravity is my friend in moving water under my slab ~200 ft from the farthest fishtank with a 5ft max height lift at the tank. Haven't calculated how fast it moves water but I can clear a 45g trashcan of water to a fishtank in ~10min.

Thank goodness it's reversible! My bilge switch went bad and burned out one direction on this pump possibly running dry for days, so I reversed polarity, installed new switch, and took my purchased replacement back to the store! Most pumps have a temperature shut off, but this one doesn't, and if I were sinking, I would NOT want a temperature shut down!!

I installed this pump and when I turned it on it blew a fuse after making a buzzing sound. I removed the faceplate which was difficult as all the screws were over torqued and retorqued it and all is well. This pump never tested at the factory as the say it was. Now I am having trouble having much faith in the thing as I wonder what else installed improperly.

It is installed as ballast pump on sailboat, functionality and quality are outstanding. Before purchasing I read negative reviews, but it looks like these do not evaluate pump itself. Most important observation: this is NOT a BILGE pump, and I do not understand this designation by manufacturer. If anyone wants bilge pump, please look in different place, there are many great bilge pumps on Amazon. If you need to pump 8 GPM (or more) please use at least 3/4" line on both ends. I have 3/4 lines and pump delivers 8-9 GPM on 10 ft lines. However, I/O connectors on pump are 1/2", and I used 1/2 x 3/4 fitting to attach pump to lines of larger diameter.

Used this as a manually switched on/off bilge pump to remove water at transom area. At first the pump wouldn’t spin quick enough to pump out the water. Found that the impeller cover plate was very tight so just backed the screws out enough that the cover didn’t leak and now the pump works well.

The pump works great. It was easy to install and it solve my problem at a fraction of the cost of a direct replacement. The original pump as well over $500 and I got this one for 120 something dollars. The only complaint I would have is that when it arrived, I checked it out and it seemed to be missing in O ring which I replaced. Other than that this pump worked great.
