About this item

  • The Original Front-Leash Attachment Harness
  • Gently teaches your dog to walk at your side
  • Make your walks more enjoyable
  • Nickel plated, steel and welded O-rings for strength

The original SENSE-ation Harness is a no-pull dog harness that works wonders for positive reinforcement dog training, or just taking gentler walks with your pooch. An instruction booklet comes with all SENSE-ation Harnesses. The SENSE-ation is similar to the SENSE-ible Harness in design, however the SENSE-ation uses a custom Softouch polyester webbing for added comfort. The SENSE-ation Harness also features Duraflex plastic hardware, instead of metal. The O-rings on the chest and sides are nickel plated steel for extra durability. The curved side-release buckle and strap keepers are a plus. The girth strap, also called a "belly strap" comes in a coordinating color, making it easy to identify, and therefore easier to put on. The SENSE-ation Harness stops your dog from pulling, without choking, stress or otherwise harming your pet. You can use i right away - there is no acclimation period. Best of all, the SENSE-ation Harness is a favorite of positive reinforcement dog trainers and humane societies worldwide. Awarded "Gear of the Year" by The Whole Dog Journal, 2003. Using a flexible measuring tape, measure from just behind the front legs all the way around your dog. You are measuring the circumference of the body just behind the front legs, like performing a chest or belt measurement on a human. X-Large 1 Inch Width 39 - 50 Inch girth*. Large - 1 Inch Width 32 - 40 Inch girth*. Large - 3/4 Inch Width 31 - 40 Inch girth*. Medium/Large - 1 Inch Width 27 -32.5 Inch girth*. Med /Large - 3/4 Inch Width 26 - 32 Inch girth*. Medium - 1/2 Inch Width 24 - 28 Inch girth*. Small - 5/8 Inch Width 20 - 24.5 Inch girth*. X-Small - 7/16 Inch Width 16.5 - 20.5 Inch girth*. Mini - 7/16 Inch Width 13 - 16.5 Inch girth*. * If the measurement falls within two harnesses, we suggest the larger size. Example: 20" girth = Small.

I bought two of these for my mini Aussie. He weighs 31 lbs and the small seems to fit okay, but it loosens as we walk. The bigger issue is that the buckle is in an awkward and possibly uncomfortable place. It ends up being right near his “armpit”, so seeing it as I buckle is difficult, then I blow all of his hair out of the way in order to not get it in the buckle. I realize that with short-coated breeds this would not be an issue, but it is for us. Lastly, the buckle sits low and immediately behind his front leg (“armpit”) and I wonder if it’s bothersome when walking and running for an hour or more.

I wanted this to work for us. We have a Bernese Mountain Dog and he is strong and stubborn. As he pulls, the harness moves, in spite of having it right to begin with.

I have heard amazing things about this harness and wanted to give it a try. However, While walking my puppy, I notice that the harness became loose and the metal circle that should be in front of him had shifted to one side. I tried to readjust but the same thing kept happening. When we finished the walk, I examined the harness and saw that one of the fasteners has snapped and could no longer keep the harness in place. He had only been wearing the harness for about a week. I was lucky my puppy didn’t get hurt or loose while we were walking in a busy area. I hope this was just a one time faulty fastener because I have heard of so many people using these harnesses for their dogs. I loved the harness until it broke after such little use.

I bought it for the no pull. Hard to put on and my puppy did not like it. He kept pulling on it and it did not improve anything. We are in training mode with regular collar and leash and that seems to be the best

Our 5-month-old puppy is a puller. There is no doubt about that! No matter what articles we have read and practiced, he pulls and pulls until he wears himself tired before we've even gone 5 minutes. Ugh. It makes walks very exhausting and frustrating, especially because he's such a people-lover. He pulls, and literally bolts, out the door as soon as we walk out when we use his old harness. A friend of us suggested this harness, said it worked for her dog so I thought, why not? We are pretty desperate for a solution. As soon as we slipped this on him, he seemed confused. Leashed him up and for once he didn't bolt out the door! I think the feeling of the harness around his arms, and the way the leash is in front of him, makes him slow down. He still pulls, but it's like 5% of the time compared with 100% of the time... and it's usually just at the very beginning of the walk or if something excites him. Otherwise, our walks are very pleasant now and frustration-free! Probably the only negative I can think of is that it is hideous compared to his other harnesses, but whatever, it is only temporary!

This is the first harness that has EVER stopped my male West Highland Terrier from pulling on the leash. Spike is a bit headstrong, so much so that he will choke himself to get to something he wants to see. Amazingly, the very first time I put this harness on him, he stopped pulling, just absolutely stopped. I love the harness and recommend it to anyone who has a slightly head strong dog and wants a bit of control and a bit of ease for your wrist and shoulder.

Wow, first off let me say that if you have a "puller," buy this harness! My SIRIUS Dog Trainer recommended this harness to me when she saw I was using a Puppia back-lead harness. I have two Doodle puppies, and they were becoming pullers. I have lots of dogs in my neighborhood and I'm just not comfortable walking them on the collar/leash combo. She told me to purchase this harness and it's been an overnight change!I've used this harness only twice, but after a quarter mile (if that) using this, my pups learned to heal on their own. I'm pretty amazed at the difference it's made. Walks are now relaxing, enjoyable and even boring because they walk beside me so well now!I'd highly recommend this product. I've already told everyone who will listen to buy it. It's worth every penny. As a side note, my pups are 22 lbs and 19 lbs and I bought the small size. It's actually a little too big for them, but they will grow into it for sure.Picture: The left is of them using the Puppia back-lead harness; they were constantly pulling! The right is of them in this harness, also attached to their collars because it's a little big still; they walk next to me so nicely now!

These are great for pulling without irritating my dogs (the kind that go over their nose they want to rub off), and don't cause damage to their trachea with long-term use like a collar would. I have to replace it since one of the plastic adjusters broke and now it is lopsided and too big. The one I have for my other dog I bought at a pet store (same brand and size though) and it is still fine, so I wonder if this is a difference in distributor quality?
