The Shadow Super Slim Knee Pads are designed to be form-fitting with maximum protection and performance. The ergonomic shape gives optimized performance and protection, while still being lightweight, flexible, and slim enough to fit under pants. Features include a strategically placed EVA whip pad to protect the inner knee area and an elasticized cuff with silicone print to prevent slippage and keep the pads securely positioned. The main knee area is finished with a high denier material designed to slide and not stick. The Evo-Guard inner pad is rated LEVEL 1 for motorsport protection.

I've been running 'Team Blowing It' knee pads for years (seen on left), which are thicker pads with a hard, covered cap, that still fit under jeans. They're a bit on the bulky side by modern standards, but they're exactly what I need for ramp/park riding and they've never let me down. But as I've been riding more dirt recently, I wanted to get something a bit... lighter, but still have decent protection when my old ass eats mud.They're a slim, under-pant design, with a very flexible protective core over the knee cap (that I can only describe like a very dense, small sand bag) that still allows plenty of movement. Even without a hard plastic cap, I gave my stem/bars a few hits my knee to test and didn't feel much at all; so while I wouldn't wanna go knee-first into concrete with these, they definitely protect from small to mid-level impacts.My only complaint so far is they use an anti-slip rubber band at the top of the pad, where it straps around your thigh (see photo). I know this is to keep them from slipping and sliding down your leg, but so far all it does is pull my leg hair a bit; I always wear jeans which keep my pads in place, so this doesn't help me personally - I'd rather they added a lower Velcro strap for better adjustment/fitment. Not a deal breaker, just a heads up.They run true to size - I'm on the thicc side and usually need XL gloves, pads, helmets; but the Large was a perfect fit to the chart they have, so follow it.Over all 8/10, but I like Shadow so still get 5*
