This ice shaving machine is a beast! I have the double bladed version. It rips through ice so fast that I'm actually surprised and impressed. We have used the plastic Hawaiian Ice machine for many years and this one is over 10x better.- It boasts the capacity to process 143 lbs of ice per hour! That's roughly one 5lb bag every two minutes. And I BELIEVE IT. You wouldn't be able to feed it ice fast enough.- The ice shavings have just the right size. Not the powdery ice like from the other machine, more like the small crystals you get from an a professional shaved machine. This has to be an industrial level machine.- It comes with two extra blades and allen wrench T-shaped tool. I did try to replace the blades as a test, but couldn't figure out how to disassemble it. This has to be to remove the guard with screw at the bottom - but there is probably another screw towards the top that needs to be removed that is underneath a plastic part. I don't want to break anything, so I'll leave the exploratory part of the replacement until it's actually needed.- It also comes with a very nice wooden rod to keep your fingers out of harms way.Notes:- Fill the ice, then close down the handle, then turn it on. Using the handle as the on/off mechanism causes ice to fly everywhere due to the gap and it's power.- The handle has a positional switch where it turns the blades on/off. Great feature, but I wish it was a bit lower - both due to the ice flying out as mentioned, but also to be sure there is enough safety margin so no one can get hurt. I don't believe this is an issue as I can't get my in there at the switch on position, but I have large hands.- The bowl / shaved ice catcher could be better designed - such as a square shape so the ice can't get around the bowl edges. You can see in the picture that the ice comes out right at the base of the stand and there is a gap between it and the bowl. This causes ice and water to get everywhere, so be sure to be ready for that mess.Overall, I'm very impressed with it's capability. I wish it was less messy to use. And be cautious when using it - it isn't something for children to play with.

I've been wanting a snow cone maker for awhile now & am SO glad I got this one! It comes ready to use, you simply put ice in the chute & turn it on. It also comes with extra blades & the tool needed to change them. I would say this is really nice for a home snow cone maker, & would be great for parties & events. After making about 5, it did back up a little bit - I found that letting it melt back out resolved the issue the best. But you could definitely push it out as well. The consistency is definitely snow cone vs shaved ice - not quite as fluffy & fine, but perfect snow cone/slushy. I was impressed by how quick I was able to make enough for my family of 5. It's easy to remove the remaining ice & wiped down when done. Overall, I'd definitely recommend!

I'm a little iffy on this machine. It cuts through ice like butter and makes really fine snow, which is perfect for a treat during the hot weather. However, there are a few things I'm not too into. First, the ice goes through the inside of the machine to be cut up so I'm not sure how to actually clean the inside if I ever need to. I'm not sure how to take it apart since there are no instructions. The second is that although they provide a bowl to hold the ice, it doesn't hold enough and you'll quickly get the ice flying everywhere unless you're able to rotate the bowl fast. The placement of the exit for the ice should be higher up so you can use a bigger bowl. Either that or the bowl needs to have an auto rotate feature. The machine itself also is mostly made from plastic and not stainless steel like I thought. Still, it does shave ice really well and really fine so it performs well for what it's supposed to do. I just wish it was better executed for the other parts.

I was very excited to receive this dual-blade ice shaver. Sadly, I was not as excited after I tried using it and I'll tell you why.Aside from the machine being a little cumbersome (expected and not a huge deal for me), the bowl provided does not sit still when the shaved ice is being ejected from the bottom. You do need to hand-rotate the bowl while the shaved ice is coming out, otherwise it very quickly loads the bowl in one spot causing the shaved ice to overflow. What's more, is that even with rotating the bowl, it is MESSY. I ended up with water all over my counter and the base of the machine. With that said, sure its a quick way to shave down ice for snow cones, or slushies or drinks...but MAN does it make a mess. Sadly, you can't really use a different bowl with higher sides either because the part where the shaved ice exits the machine is so close to the base. Believe me, I tried.Overall, nice idea...but would have been far better a product had it sat higher up allowing a higher rimmed bowl to sit under the machine.

The HURMOVAE Dual Blade Ice Shaver definitely delivers on power. It chews through a couple handfuls of ice in just seconds. I was honestly amazed at its capabilities. The dual blades really make a difference.Although it creates perfect shaved ice, there are some flaws. The location of where the shaved ice discharges doesn't center into the included bowl. The alignment is slightly off, so you’ll either need to reposition the bowl or catch the ice another way to avoid a mess. Not a dealbreaker, but a bit annoying. I think the overall design could be improved upon.Overall, it’s a heavy-duty unit that does its job well. If you're after speed and volume, this is a solid choice. My review is based mostly on the quality of shaved ice and the speed at which it is produced. Just be ready to improvise a bit when catching the ice.
