Beautiful violin case. The pictures shown are in natural light from my window. The large compartment at the head of the violin fits my Bonmusica shoulder rest, which is a huge plus. I did have to coax it in a little, but it does fit. There is a lot of extra room in the compartment even after adding the shoulder rest. The second compartment fits my Jade rosin perfectly. The only downside is that the cover was all balled up inside when I opened the case and it’s a bit misshaped. It looks like it was sewn crooked (like the fabric was stretched while it was being stitched). The key is also hard to use and it took me quite the effort to even get it in the lock and turned. I don’t use the locks on cases, so it’s not a big deal for me. My violin fits nice and snug, more snug than any other case I’ve owned. Overall, very nice.

The case looks beautiful inside and out, but is a hassle to open and close due to the magnetic snaps which must be held open as you zipper or unzipper the case on each side. When you unlatch the front center latch you also have to use your other hand to hold up the magnetic flap. I read a complaint about this in a review prior to purchasing but thought this would not be a problem. Well, it is. The bow holders have snapped several bow hairs each time I removed my bow. Not sure why but something isn't right with this. The backpack straps, music folder and handle are adequate, yet the case seems a bit on the heavy side. I am returning the case. I really don't need a hygrometer, thermometer or four bow holders, nor the hassle of the magnetic snaps.

Amazing! Perfect protection, elegant interior and exterior, a simply beautiful case. My first day carrying it and I get plenty of complements, fellow musicians have asked me if I paid $500 for it. A little heavy as opposed to my old $30 case, but tolerable, great for the price. I plan to use this case for years to come

I have received the black/purple color Sky Oblong case yesterday.First Impression:The case is black with brown edging. The combination somehow makes the black seems like a warm dark gray but overall, the case is decent looking and the exterior construction is nice. When the case was opened, I noticed the hygrometer came off, probably due to shipping. It snaps back easily but I will be gluing it, I don't want it coming off again rattling inside damaging my violin.Exterior:It is a handsome case and the construction is very decent. It doesn't look like an expensive BAM or GEWA case but it looks more expensive than it costs. The straps, the lock, the hardware are all very nice.Interior:From the seller's picture, I was worried about the height of the tail suspension pad, it seems very shallow. It is true that the tail pad is less than 1/2" thick but the upper pad is much thicker, so the violin back is indeed suspended. I believe it is deliberate to have a shallow tail pad, so the violin is lower on the tail side, allowing enough clearance for the bridge when the case is closed. I was also worried about the clearance of the bridge but I tested it with 2 violins, both bridges clear when the cover is closed. All the accessories pockets are well made and closes snugly. No issues here. The main interior color is more a burgundy color than purple which is fine. The venetian patterned areas are not as pronounced as what the pictures show which I found a bit disappointing. Nonetheless, it is visible and quite nice. How it fits:As mentioned before, 2 of my violins fit fine. One (A copy of a Stradivari) seems a bit tight on the width side. The other (a Guarneri copy) fits really well. One thing that may be a concern is the widest part of the violin has a very small amount of padded foam for protection. However, I checked my other cases including a Gewa and a Bobelock, they both have about the same amount of protection at the narrowest part. How it feels:The handle is wrapped with leather (probably faux leather) and it doesn't feel like there is any padding inside. My Bobelock handle is padded. However, even though I cannot squeeze the handle like the Bobelock, the Sky case is ergonomic and feels good to carry the case. I also tested it as a backpack and I don't feel anything wrong with this case. I also like the magnet flaps on the exterior covering the zippers, I prefer this more than the snap buttons which I always think will eventually rip the flaps. Talking about zippers, they are YKK zippers.Overall, I have seen better case but also at a premium of at least doubling the price. I am happy with this purchase and think $179 for the black/purple has good value. Basic colors is $40 less and that I believe is a very good deal.

I am absolutely thrilled with this case especially at this price point! The finish, fit and hard sides all combine to give me peace of mind to keeping my old girl safe during transport. My only concern would be a bit of play around the subway handle and if I had to use this for a daily commute I would be concerned about longevity in that regard. However, for your average suburban student that avoids public transportation this is a wonderful case that lends the impression that you splurged a grand on that top priced Italian case. I especially like the added security of the latch and also the convenience of the magnetized storm flap. All in all, this case conveys quiet elegance in its warm coffee and olive tones and I am proud to have taken the plunge and purchased this. An incredible value! Be mindful that the description states there is a humidifier bottle included. There is not, and I have made the seller aware and they have confirmed that this case does not include that feature.

This is a beautiful, well made and sturdy case. I currently have three violins and two violas, so I have had several cases in my life. The Sky case is light but provides as good a suspension as some of the more expensive ones I have bought. It also looks as exquisite as the you-know-what Italian brand that costs at least $1000. The bow holders are well positioned. While a bit tight, I managed to put all four bows in without problem. The only small regret is that it does not come with a humidifier. So you either have to install one or use damp-it. For humidifying purpose, I replaced the string tube with Precipitube and it looks just beautiful. (http://www.lashofviolins.com/precipitube.html)For $139, this is about as good a case one can buy. The item was shipped expeditiously, and I received it in three days with free shipping in excellent condition.
