The smoke detector was super easy to install, it took all of 5 minutes and it came with all of the materials minus a screwdriver. Once you lock the alarm into the holder ring it activates the battery, which is already built in and apparently lasts for 10 years!! After the installation it was super easy to test, I just pushed the big middle button. It's your standard loud, piercing, smoke detector beep and my wife was able to hear it a floor down, which ended up being a good test.Based off of the 10 year life span, price point and not needing to buy a 9V battery , I would highly recommend the detector!

The mounting plate is incredibly easy to install, you won’t need a handyman for this one. The diameter of the mounting plate is inline with other manufactures and should be an easy direct replacement. You can’t replace the battery on this device, but a 10 year battery is long enough that you won’t have to worry about it. The 6 or 10 pack is the way to go making this an unbeatable value.

This review is for the Siterwell smoke detector-alarm with 10-year sealed battery with voice alert and photoelectric sensor.This is my second Siterwell smoke alarm. I have had the Siterwell smoke and carbon monoxide combo unit since 2022. It's because of my very positive experience with this earlier unit that I again chose this smoke detector.Both Siterwell units are beautifully designed. The construction and finish are top quality. My earlier unity, the CO+smoke detection, has been functioning flawlessly since I first installed it in 2022... and an eye-sore, it is not!This smoke detector comes with a 10-year lithium-ion battery; no wiring or yearly battery replacement is needed. It does not require an app (a plus for me).Installation is straightforward; however, it is a good idea to read the directions carefully, especially regarding battery deactivation and the alarm locking feature (to prevent unauthorized alarm removal). Both actions cannot be reversed once performed.All in all, this is a solid, well-designed and built unit that is reasonably priced. I am very satisfied with my decision to add it to my other smoke alarms. I expect it will be as reliable as my other Siterwell product.

I'm not handy but I was able to install this myself to replace an old yellow/ beige one so this looks much more modern. I hope the battery really lasts 10 years. This is smoke alarm only, no carbon monoxide detector. Nice design and no malfunctions in the middle of the night so far.

Easy to install, very loud when tested. This alarm has similar quality to the other alarms I have around the house. It has not gone off on accident and we have had it over a month. No complaints. It seems to be a very good alarm.

I got the 10-Year Sealed Battery Operated Smoke Detector to cover a room that didn’t have one, and I’ve been really impressed with how well it’s worked out. The install was quick and straightforward—it came with all the mounting pieces, and it lined up easily with standard brackets. Took just a few minutes, no tools or wiring needed.What makes this one stand out is the voice alert. It doesn’t just beep—it actually announces there’s smoke, which feels a lot more effective in getting your attention, especially if you’re asleep or not nearby. There’s also an LED light that gives a clear visual signal if something’s wrong, which adds another layer of visibility in case you miss the sound.The 10-year sealed battery is a huge bonus. Knowing I don’t have to deal with battery replacements every year is a big relief. Plus, the photoelectric sensor is great for catching slow-burning fires without constantly going off from steam or minor cooking smoke—something that’s definitely come in handy.This unit is just for smoke detection, so if you need carbon monoxide coverage, you’ll have to get a separate detector. That threw me off a bit at first, but for smoke detection alone, this one’s solid.If you're buying for the whole house, the multi-pack is definitely the way to go—you get better value and can easily outfit several rooms at once. It’s low-maintenance, reliable, and blends right in without looking bulky or out of place. Definitely glad I picked it up.

This product was received as part of a promotion. We're getting another house soon, and the house will need to have some more smoke detectors in it. I found this one and got it. I am very happy with it. This alarm comes with two booklets of instructions. It has a 10-year lithium-sealed battery, so that means there are no occasional "beep beeps" to change a battery(ies) out because it'll last 10 years! The alarm has to be activated by pushing a button in on the bottom, and that activates the alarm for the next 10 years. When the time comes, it also has a low battery indicator sound. It comes with mounting hardware (screws, stud mounts) and is really simple to twist off and on. When it's twisted on, it fits VERY secure. This alarm will fit very well/flush with the ceiling. It's very simple to test to make sure it works. It has an LED light inside it for easy light viewing. Some lights are kind of dim and are difficult to see. This alarm has great lighting, so I know that will NOT be an issue. It also has an 85-decibel buzzer that cannot be missed. This sound is the equivalent of a food blender or heavy traffic. I have no complaints about this smoke detector!
