This product vents the pressure in the Cooling System. The Lock Lever prevents removing the cap while the system is pressured up. Also, if one has a blown Head Gasket, the car can be driven with the Lock Lever in the "unlocked" position which will vent the exhaust gasses without over pressurizing the Cooling System.

Not a STANT-and it doesn't fit the car! Like so very many items today on Amazon...the product is a lie. Not only is it a lie...it won't even fit the car!If Amazon keeps this up I am through with them. If I don't have to return the junk-what am I going to do with it??? I still don't have a radiator cap. Throw it away, I guess.

Another excellent Stant component. Got this and gas cap at the same time. Both fit very tight. Excellent quality. I love it.

My last Stant 10329 lasted more than ten years on my 40 year old Toyota Pickup. This one should do the same.Fits fine, and the lever-vent to release pressure when it's hot makes it much more useful than a standard radiator cap.This one was available at the best price anywhere.
