No zoom plus not practical to use. one hand has to hold it on the phone. other hand handle the phone. It’s ridiculous and unpractical.

I have been playing around with this unique monocular scope for a couple of weeks, and there are a number of things that have impressed me. The build quality is very nice and the various components are well engineered to fit together easily. There is no question that the materials used, the glass lenses and aluminum body, are first rate. I have used this device to do various things: As a telescope while outside to view distant objects and as a magnifier to read small print on labels and instruction manuals, including the one that came with this item. My overall conclusion after using this scope for awhile is that it is just too small to be of much help except for intermittent, occasional use. The field of view, if that is the proper term, is just too limited to sustain using it for any length of time. To examine a bird's nest high in a tree, it's fine, but should the bird be moving, the small area in the scope's field of view makes following the movement difficult. Likewise, when using the close up function to read the small print on the back of a wristwatch, it did fine. When reading the impossibly small print on instruction manuals, the need to move slowly, several letters at time, made the process a bit tedious. My bottom line on this scope is that I like the idea of an all-in-one device and find its size handy to have with me when I suddenly might be in need of a telescope or magnifier. To expect it to replace larger binoculars, say, or a full size magnifying glass, however, is to ask for too much. If one's expectations are realistic, this device can be both fun to play with and useful.

There are a lot of less-expensive small monocular and magnifiers out there you could gamble on to see how the quality is; the genius of this one is that instead of a sealed bulky plastic housing they just kept the three lenses as separate parts that you can easily remove and re-attach by hand. By rearranging them in different combinations you can get the equivalent of four or five different small pocket optics, two different long distance and three different magnifiers, plus a clear plastic stand-off to use the strongest magnifier with some stability.Currently, I work in a large warehouse and occasionally deal with extremely tiny labels. This was an instant grab off the vine. I'm not an expert on lenses but I'm perfectly happy with the clarity and quality, and it's fun to have around.

This is a very compact optical gadget with a sturdy storage case. It is a well-constructed combination magnifier, telescope, and microscope. It has surprisingly good optics but not a wide field of view. So the end result is, it's fun but not entirely useful. As a telescope you can't expect to see great detail in the view, just a somewhat enlarged version of your subject. And if your subject is moving, forget it. As a magnifier it does provide a crisp magnified image. I think this is where the device excels. It does make a great magnifier. You don't need to bend your head down to it. Just look with both eyes a few inches away from the device. I do think that the instructions are wrong here. As a magnifier you want to put the assembled B and C section into the LONG end of the "dual view stand" not the short end. As a microscope you get a crisp image but a small field of view. It's really great for two-dimensional objects like coins, paper, fabric, leaves, etc but not so great for say, a large insect with a very 3-dimensional texture. I held it up to my cell phone (without purchasing the bracket) and have tried to show photos of the different results: magnifier on words, microsope on a letter "C", telescope of a vent in a neighbor's siding. Don't give this one to the kids, they just won't have the patience for it but keep it hand for checking the date on coins.

Wow. I was blown away at just how small this thing is. But its not too small to the point of being ridiculously tiny. But the amount of magnification you get out of this thing is huge. I collect a lot of different minerals from all over the world like an abnormal amount if you ask my wife. So I am always looking for a great way to get in there and get a close-up macro view of all the awesomeness my specimens contain. And boy did this do the trick. I got some great looks into what I've looked at so far. The lenses are extremely nice and clear and not blurry at all once you find the sweet spot of course. They are glass and not plastic thankfully. The body is anodized aluminum and is very nice as well. The little leather ppuch is very cool as well. I also saw they have adapters for mobile phones and I ordered one as soon as i saw how this little thing performed. I really truly recommend this pocket scope/magnifier if you are anything like me and have an affinity towards all the awesomeness that the earth itself provides for us to look at and marvel at. It is a great value and lots of potential for many hours of enjoyment I promise.

This scope is complete garbage. Bought to bird watch and it’s absolutely useless. Stay away from this product.

I got this to carry with me in the backpack, so compact is what I was looking for.I've now tried using it 2 times in the field, and twice at home. The way it's focused is by pushing or pulling on the eyepiece tube as needed. There's no way to make small adjustments. With the smallest magnification, 2.5x, it's doable, and even when combined with the 5x lens, it can be done, but with difficulty; anything beyond that will be a frustrating experience, and even if you manage to attain focus, the blurriness of images at the higher powers is apparent.I'll still carry it since it's better than nothing, but I'll continue watching for a better, yet still compact, solution.
