I have built about 16 guitars in my life, now at 70 years of age I have built 4 Stewmac kits in the last 2 years. 2 OM's and 2 dreadnaughts. Whether you are going to build as is or going to embellish to your own liking these kits are great. Many of the hard parts are done, bending the sides, rough carving the neck jointing top and back, etc. It still takes a lot of skill to build a quality finished instrument. It is not like a model car kit and not inexpensive, you will spend about $1000.00 by the time you are finished. If you take your time and have some good wood working skills, you'll have a guitar worth several thousands.

If your thinking about building a guitar then this kit is awesome. I'm still working on my first build but it's been a lot of fun and I can see myself buying more kits in the future.
