When paying $90 for such a simple device I expected a lot more volume! My $10 alarm clock is much louder than this and it isn't protecting hundreds of dollars of frozen meat.I realize an external alarm can be connected to this device, but why on earth can't it either be much louder or, better yet, have a high/low volume switch?I will check back in to revise this review after a few months. It better be rock-solid reliable!

The quality of the newer units are disappointing. I have two older units that are over eight years old and work perfect I ordered two more and only one worked properly. The second one did not work right out of the box so I returned it in the next two reorders didn’t work either. Too bad about the quality going down

Plugs into 120 volt outlet. Insert the temp probe into the freezer/cooler and it's ready. The alarm is louder than I thought it would be. Beep-beep-beep-beep. It will keep beeping until you unplug it. There is a temperature adjustment and a 1 hour alarm delay. When the door is open during loading or unloading the temp goes up and triggers the alarm. The hour delay prevents the alarm from sounding until the cooler has time to cool down.

I bought 2 different kinds of frezzor alarms, but the ones with batteries in the temp. sensor only lasted a few days. AAA batteries don't hold up around "0" degrees. This alarm cost too much but works great....

The alarm I purchased in this picture is junk. I talked to Supco tech support and they said the alarms had a one year manufacture warranty on this product and I could return it through Amazon but I see my return window has closed. I purchased these so I would have extra ones but these are junk. When I talked to tech support they told me that they were now made in China and if I didn't like them just send them back. We just got around to installing them this week and none of them work correctly. I hope they enjoy my money because I will never purchase them again.I have approx. 20 of these in my store but rest assure I will find something else. Thanks for a terrible product.

I use this to monitor the temperature in my server room. It works way better than I had hoped and it can be used to alarm on hot or cold. This device works better than advertised and is worth the cost and then some. Five stars from me and would/will definitely buy again.

I purchased this to go on my freezer in my detached garage. After reading the instructions that are not posted here I found out that in not rated to be in a environment that is that cold or humid so I sent it back. If you want to use it in a heated area above 32F. It dose have some extra contact features that could come in real handy and explain the $80 price tag. NOT 4 ME

There isn't much to it, but it works great. I bought it because it has a dry contact. I connected mine to a Z-Wave relay that reports to a Smartthings hub. I run both the Supco and the MIMOLite Z-Wave relay off their native mode 12vdc (battery) so I get alarms even during power failures. the device does come with a 12vdc wall wart. The sensor can be extended up to 200 ft with 24 AWG (speaker) wire. I expect I could have made something for less money, but I like to use standard stuff.
