TACTIK Hitch Tightener

It's a solid product, and works well - but on anything but the drop hitch depicted it's a beast to mount. For my Class 1 Euro-style hitch, I finally got it to work by flipping it upsdie down (bolts to the top) and slightly off-center, in order to get enough bite for it to actually stabilize the connection. Since then, works like a charm - and was very much needed as otherwise the connection really rattled and wobbled.

My only complaint with the TACTIK Hitch Tightener Anti Rattle Stabilizer is that the U-bolt threads are too easily damaged (see photo). The damage to the threads occurred when I was trying different installation orientations, due to having a heavy duty weight distribution hitch and the orientation in the instructions won't work for my setup. The ease of thread damage is the sole reason for a low rating.I've included a photo showing the only orientation that this anti rattle stabilizer will work with my particular setup, with the plate being on the top instead of the bottom. I'm not reducing my rating because of my setup being different from standard. I also show a photo of the stabilizer in the orientation shown in the instructions; because it isn't flush, the angle of the U-bolt to the plate is not 90 degrees and only holding it in this position is when the damage to the threads occurred.The plate is sufficient size and thickness for this application, and has a good coating.
